I'm thinking that Helm and Abby probably grew up watching hockey and will not be offended in the least that their contracts are taking a few weeks longer considering that they might get the chance to play with Mike Modano. The guy's pretty famous. It would be very cool to say that they played with him. Right now it's not "Do we play in Detroit?" it's "Do we play with Modano?" If their jobs were on the line, then I could see some trepidation.

Edit: Posting ESPN articles to support your arguments does very little to add any validity to your cause.

He implements funny hockey humor in quite a few of his movies. Pretty excited to see it ,although I think Miracle and Slap Shot will always be the best hockey movies.

wow did you look at all his other stats and not just a stat that depends on the team around him? Some people remind me so much of the project managers and data analyst here at dell. they only pull data that somewhat supports the crap they are trying to say and they leave out everything else. never really looks at the whole picture.

dude...watch role models and you'll change your idea about sean william scott getting the lead role. he's gonna be a hockey player that can only fight. the only other guys you could offer that role to are adam sandler and ashton kucher... and sean william scott has already worked with kevin smith. jay and silent bob stike back to name 1. jason mewes better be a large part of that supporting cast. seth rogan should get a part in the movie too. missed this before i posted. you know about him too i see.

Yes, Helm and Abby have not been treated well by the Wings organization, that is something you often hear about this franchise. You mean controlling . . like trying to dictate what is the appropriate amount of posting. Um, I think you mean shortsighted and also I don't think the phrase "still very good" is speaking about the past it is speaking of the present. His own team is not in the same situation as the Wings. The Wings should make the playoffs with a ripe and well developed team that has a legitimate shot at winning the Stanley Cup and only need to tweak their team. Dallas on the other hand did not make the playoff and is rebuilding their team for future success. It is not the same to compare what Dallas needs and what Detroit needs.

Oh I know what he meant, and it's definitely possible, but slim/none that it will happen probably. It's more crazy talk/paranoid thinking about that and it really isn't worth worrying about.

I think the contention is that they are going to hold it against us and leave later. I totally do not agree with that and as I said if they did I want them gone now because they aren't NHL mind even if they are NHL skill. But just clarifying the point. Where do you get that Kenny thinks he's "filling a hole" at all? I think Modano's just a chance to pick up a primo player for personal reasons (Detroit connection) that teams don't normally get. I've never once heard anyone say it's a "hole."

You don't know this. Nobody does. This is what, 3, 4, 5 years down the road? Helm's probably not going to care as badly as you are trying to imply. You are being too paranoid.

Are you seriously still second guessing a decision that could not have worked out any better than it did? Babcock in all of his delusions got this team to 5th place, 4th was completely out of the realm of possibility, there was no realistic way the Wings were catching the Yotes unless they lost all of their games after the Olympic break. The way Babcock coached this team took them from 9th to 5th in a flash. Say what you want about the situation and your personal feelings towards who you wanted to see in net, but his decision worked! Plain and simple it worked, and all of you saying Osgood could have done the same as Howie are doing the same as those who say he couldn't, GUESSING! None of us know if Ozzie would have been better or worse than Howard in that situation because he was not put in it. All we can go on is what happened. Babcock had to weigh Ozzie's last two regular seasons vs what he was currently getting from Howard. Now Howard COULD have collapsed and the team would have been stuck with a rusty goaltender but that is not what happened, and any other thoughts about the situation are conjecture.

Maybe they got it confused cause of the whole Red thing. Thats a color, and kind of like a race... right? Free Biz! I hate NHL's sensorship. Its basically an anti-honesty policy. In the case of Biz he was just a joker.

I'm not sure I disagree, but you are leaving things out. Ozzie s*** the bed multiple times, and by the time he looked like he may be competent enough to warrant a shot to play more games, the Wings needed to go with the better chance to win, which was Howie. We couldn't afford to roll the dice and hope Ozzie turned the corner last year. Up until the last week, every game mattered, and we needed to bring the A team.

As we all know when Federov left his game went to the decline and by looking his stats his defensive game has dropped with having all +/- below 0 for his last seasons. I was wondering tho, do you guys think that Federov's career would of ended better if he had indeed sticked with the Wings or it would of had been the same, production drop?

As far as questioning their judgment it really depends. They're not going to get everything right. I mean, Jason Williams a second time?
