There are a few minor points (splitting hairs) that I would like different, but overall, this is EXACTLY what the league needs... Your sidenote is a very poignant one as well, I've thought for awhile that the league should start sooner and end sooner as well... and it would be the SOLE sport with impact playoff games in May, which would be great for ratings as well... I wish I could give more than just a +1 for this post...

When we saw Pav and Z play together this year they really didn't look all that great. With Babs hell bent on keeping them apart, I've been wondering about whether or not they'll ever be able to recreate the magic. YT has 'Top Plays with Lecavalier and St. Louis' and I thought, "Why don't they have one of these for Datsyuk and Zetterberg?" So to the best of my ability and access to footage as a fan, I made one myself. Even though the NHL doesn't have footage stored from 02-03 or 03-04, I feel as if I remember those years fairly well enough that I'm not missing a goal when it comes to pretty plays between the two. The blog is acting a little weird so I have to paste each link one by one: Hope you all enjoy it!

I disagree - if my teenage son would be anything like me, he would either really enjoy it, or really deserve it. Either way, the story you would have to tell from then on would be worth it. SIGN ME UP FOR ONE OF THOSE!

yea, no kidding... I highly doubt anyone would want an NHL tough guy to come after them... The fact of the matter is, this paints a black eye on the NHL and luckily it didn't escalate worse, but this kind of behavior can NOT be allowed by the NHL... I say 5 games and a hefty fine would be fitting...

i mean as long as you didnt get your jaw broken that would be sweet. how many people can say they got socked in the face by a nhl'er.

From what I read on Bob McKenzie's Twitter, all the fan was doing was vigorously applauding Rypien's exit from the game. Rypien's gotta get at least a couple games for that. McKenzie thinks even more than that.

i just told my friend the same thing. we are going to the game together so i would hope for one. He was there for 30+ years, through good times and bad. they should sell orange hats with the winger wheel on them.

The logo needs to make its way to being their primary logo. The jersey needs to make its way to the incinerator.

The NHL is looking for some new referees. It would seem as though you would fit their current profile of refs that they are using these days.

I haven't noticed, no. But then again I'm blind. I lost both eyes to high sticks because I wasn't wearing a visor.
