Steve Yzerman was a warrior, no doubt about that.

    A call to fans

I am not starting another thread about the fine and possible jail time for a fan who participated in Octopus throwing. I am starting a thread for anyone who actually wants to start protesting the NHL's many aggressive faults. Bad calls and attacks on Detroit tradition chief amongst them. I want to call on people with more modern skills than I have. We need websites, Facebook campaigns, mail in campaigns, call in campaigns, twitter, real Egyptian type protests. I call upon everyone to pitch in however possible, and as much as possible. National Hockey League 1185 Avenue of the Americas, 12th Fl. New York, NY 10020 NY Tel. 212-789-2000 Fax 212-789-2020 If you call you can use the dial in extensions, I think I might try one by one to find extensions of people. For example 4268 does not belong to anyone... I will buy the person who finds Bettmans number a beer! This is what I could find so far, and I know VP of Media Relations Frank Brown weighed against the fan. I am trying to find his number. I have to run now, and I will try to keep on it. Please don't shoot this down, participate or don't but I think the more we do these things the more likely they are to back off.

To Red Wings fans in Arizona:

I was going to wear my red franzen to game 3 and my white cleary to game 4 (only other red I have is Z and I dont want to break that out until he returns). But after reading this I got a new red lids stitched up just to rock for game 4.

    A call to fans

I was thinking something like this, maybe plush toys that are given out on the door, that way they can all be thrown (and if a player complains about almost being hit by a soft toy, well... no need to say how fans will take his woosy-ness). What's more they can all be collected again and maybe sold off, say if players signed them for charity? AH SCREW IT! I'm writing a letter to whoever necessary at the Red Wings organisation! Would probably be difficult to get hold of top management wont it? Either that or get Mike Ilitch to run down to the glass and throw one himself. Then lets see security throw him out. No chance in hell.

Wild aren't in the playoffs, and it's more of a college hockey state anyway.

    A call to fans

Bettman tired to stop this before. I have 1997 playoff games on VHS/DVD, and whenever a octopus hit the ice, Bud Lynch had to tell the fans if something is thrown on the ice, it's an automatic penalty to the home team. If it didn't work then, it won't work now.

The City of detroit is millions of dollars in debt. They will take any penny they can get. But perhaps is you slipped the officer a 20 or something to kindly look the other way would do the trick. If the NHL is so worried about octopi juice ruining the ice, maybe they shouldn't of put a ice rink in a city where its 100 + degrees in April?
