    The Unthinkable

The situations are worlds apart. Bourque was a non-contender and left with the graces of both management and fans to pursue a cup before his career ended. Lidstrom is on a contender and has multiple cups already.

Lidstrom can't resign with the Lighting, he never held any formal position with them. He also can't re-sign with them, as he's never been a member.

    The Unthinkable

Bourque left Boston for a serious Cup run. The Bruins were not a contender at the time he left. Lidstrom's situation is different. Detroit is a contending team every year.

    The Unthinkable

from wiki: In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory[citation needed], extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[3] The noun troll may refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted".

    The Unthinkable

Lidstrom re-signs with Detroit or retires. End of story. Besides, I wouldn't really consider TB more of a contender than the Wings next season.

It's unthinkable because it's absolutely implausible. Next.

    The Unthinkable

Here is a guarantee, if Lidstrom signs with Tampa, then Weber will sign with Detroit... this COULD happen, but I think I would win the mega-millions before either happened (which also COULD happen) I believe that you have a better chance of the United States Government confessing the truth behind 9/11 than any of that happening though...sorry... edit: The question wouldn't be if you will still like Lidstrom, the question would be would you still like Yzerman for poaching our best defensman of ALL TIME...

What can be done to go East?

A bunch of Debbie Downers in here...its a good thing they didn't infect Winnipeg, eh?

No kidding, I think it is because we are bringing reality to their dreams, and the two are like oil and vinegar. They just don't mix at this juncture.

I negged ya for negging folks that recognize a troll for what he is. I always thought you were supposed to dog trolls a little then ignore them.

What can be done to go East?

I think the only way the Wings move East is if fans stop going to games in general, the team stops being profitable, and they need the big Eastern cities to help make them money. I'm all for taking a stand and voicing your opinion, but I think we need to face facts, the Wings make to much money for the West. The NHL would be stupid to move the Wings East. It makes so much sense (distance, financial, and to keep things simple), for the NHL to move Nashville East, put them in the Southeastern Division, and have Winnipeg in the Northwest, moving Minnesota to the Central. East: Moving Nashville East is almost like just moving Atlanta up the road a bit, with very little change to the Western divisions.

Thats awesome but shouldn't you keep the name consistent? If its a movement, you want a common name. Just saying here at the beginning before you get going, bro. I'd ask Matt if he wants to get on-board with this in some way.

Good solid player but I dont trust him in the playoffs at all. I don't think he should pk or play in the last 3 minutes in playoffs he panics and turns it over way to much. Id like to keep him but just get someone else for top 4

    Atlanta Thrashers move to Winnipeg

2 more, Quebec should get the Nordiques back, and Toronto should get another team. I still think it's Columbus.
