    Wings Preview on HockeyBuzz

The St. Louis Blues will win the division, the Wings will get a bunch of injuries, the Wings will lose to the Blues in Game 7... Sounds like this Deen person isn't a hockey analyst, just a Blues fan who hasn't stopped believing

I voted for Bert, I would love "Bobbletuzzi". I also agree that Jimmy should get one too.

Hockey was actually safer when it was more violent in the 80's and nineties. Line clearing brawls may look worse than a blindside hit 2 the head, but there not, ide rather see stuff like that as retribution for a team or individuals action then a dirty blindside, or from behind hits to the head. the problem now is players dont have to pay the price ON THE ICE, if they make a dirty play. Oh a fine and sitting a couple games and a fine will teach them! right? Not really, these guys have deep pockets and its a long season. on the other hand if the guy gets his ass beat everytime he steps on the ice, cuz he is dirty (matt cooke) hes not gunna last long in the league. And im not talking about a north south hits 2 the head, thats the player with the pucks fault should have had his head up. If they dis allow those hits to the head, a guy can just skate around the ice with his head down in order to protect himself from being touched. yes i know it was a bit off topic,

    Wings Preview on HockeyBuzz

http://my.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=11767&user_id=131735 Take this one with a grain of salt boys. I'm not too familiar with HockeyBuzz so I don't really know how credible they are. I find it weird that at the end of the article, with the prediction, this guy predicts that the Wings will deal with a bunch of injuries. I don't think I've ever seen someone predict a team (of any sport really) will have a lot of injuries.... On a side note, my buddy was talking to me about how "Eklund" predicted the Wings to finish 11th in the West. Anyone know of such an article?

Not to offend anyone but some of us on here should remember it's a "bobblehead contest" not a "favorite Red Wing competition". I feel happy for Bert and what he has done for the Wings, I'm not saying he's more important to the organization than Kronwall but IMO he deserves a bobblehead.

They should make a Starting Lineup (Anyone remember those?) of Kronwall's hit on Havsplat.

    Mickey Redmond Interview

My husband and I waited in line for 2 hours in the 90 plus degree heat last year when Mickey signed autographs at the White Caps game in Grand Rapids. He was so very kind and a true ambassador to the game. He signed our photo of us w/ the Stanley Cup and thanked US for taking the time to meet him. Absolutely love him.

LGW Podcast Debut for 2011-2012 Season

I also want to see updates on our prospects since I don't usually have the time to follow AHL/European hockey. I think the member profiles are a great idea, I'd love to know whats on the mind and put a face with the name of some of these people that have 10000+ posts, they must know more about hockey than I could learn in 10 lifetimes lol. Finally, I like the concept of having like an LGW culture update. Include things like who the "whipping boy" is this month, explain any significant community inside jokes that were created since the last podcast for those who missed the thread (i.e. things like the "hudlers" picture from photoshop wars or what bernie the rally bird is), and maybe have an interview with a Mod every epiode about the future of the forum or current issues in the LGW community. I know my account says I only joined in April, but I've been coming here since right after the 2006 playoffs ended. I mostly lurked and made a few posts under a couple different account names over the years. I never really had time to be active because of the demands of college. Anyway, I just thought I'd include this part about me so that those reading this know that I am speaking as someone who has enjoyed this site for years and feel like I know LGW a lot more than my 40 some posts would indicate.

    St. Louis Blues slogan

Hmm... should have used "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues". Change the words a little... I guess that's why they call us the Blues. Time and again, we do nothing but lose. Diving like chickens, lose to the others, Whine to officials like they're our mothers, And I guess that's why they call us the Blues. Or something. That was just off the top of my head and it really wasn't very good.

    2012 Playoff Predictions

This made me laugh, it's been so long they look funny in the mix. If Reimer plays like they think he's going to then they have a chance. Would be pretty sweet to see them in the playoffs again. I've also always since I was a young kid loved the Wings-Leafs rivalry. We almost had a cup final with them but we ended up with Carolina instead. People around here (my home town) being an hour outside Toronto get so jacked up everyone turns into insane hockey fans when the Leafs make the playoffs, I miss that.

    Your Favorite Wings Lines Ever

All great choices. Maybe not my all-time favorite, but as a blast from the past, I'd say Gallant, Yzerman and Probert. Man they were a fun line to watch.

Ahhh...and there it is. I knew there had to be some organized douchebaggery or "movement" for Bertuzzi to be ahead of Kronwall in the polls. Real Wings fans voted for the obvious choice in the poll, Kronwall.

wouldnt be surprised 2 see bettman giive him a job with the league that he has no experiance for, without havingto work his way up... he could always be an ice girl???

So does Chris Conner make this team?

Does anyone else find it a little odd that Conner is on a one way deal? His speed is very high end and he is a great grinder/energy type. The wings have needed team speed for a while and now they finally have it with Helm and Mursak, but does Holland perhaps see what Helms speed does for drawing penalties and creating energy? Are they looking to get faster for bigger, slower teams like the sharks come playoff time. A line of Mursak Helm Conner could be scray for other teams to play against. Looking at the lineup I just dont see how all these people can make the team. The only logical thing I can see happening is a trade coming because of the cap space and the large amount of forwards. Conner Emmerton and Brunnstrom will be in a dog fight for the 14th forward spot.
