Is that a suspension worthy hit? It looked like the guy slowed up right before the hit so instead of shoulder to shoulder it was shoulder to head. It was immediately prior to the contact.

Finally, some real action. Now we'll hopefully see Abby, Ericsson and Janik goon it up. Grab Kane, Toews, Keith and Hossa and pound away at them boys!

Hopefully Ben Smith is okay. I think Smith's (Wings) reaction shows he didn't want to do that, but it certainly was a bad hit.

Not cool bruh! He looks pretty messed up.

Smith hit his shoulder before he hit the head.

    Kronwall contract talks

After the Ericsson contract, I wouldn't be surprised if Kronwall asks for a huge number.

I'll be at this game tonight at the UC. Kind of wish we had a few more starters in the lineup, this could get brutal. Especially since the majority of the Hawks "fans" at the game will completely fail to comprehend that none of the Wings starters are playing, and will inevitably think that tonight's game alone is proof that the Wings are old and slow and derpity derp derp. Then again... if the Wings happen to have a great game and take control of the scoreboard, I'll have no problem pointing out to the crowd that non of our starters are playing!

    Mursak is out

Almostt. I like Mursak because he shows a lot of promise and brings things to the Wings that we don't have. You like Emmerton because you see something in his game you like and you like giving guys who spent years in GRap a chance to shine. Whereas I'm saying the reason Emmerton spent so much time in the minors is because he sucks, just like the other scrubs we had in the minors out of juniors and Emmerton is bascally a Miller-lite....and Miller Light is all sorts of nasty.

    The Official NHL Suspension Thread

Shanahan is doing a wonderful job. This should have happened sooner. Goons and enforcers will soon have no place in the game. I'm loving it. And yes, 8 game suspension and a $500k fine is appropriate. Shanahan 'gets it'. Hockey as we know it will be such a better sport in no time.

    Fabian Brunnstrom

Wow, just what I was thinking everytime I hear the words "Hudler" and "Potential" in the same sentence or everytime he is placed on the top line... I'll stop talking crap about him when people stop saying he has the potential to be a first line sniper... So for now, Brunnstrom over Hudler everyday of the week and twice on Sunday...

    Mursak is out

Do you ever get sick of whining about him? First it was that we "lost" Ritola because of him. Now what?

What can be done to go East?

I personally love the late games that I get to watch, but I know that it's a major advantage especially in the playoffs for the team to not have to travel outside of their timezone. I think a major contribution to the 2008 Cup win and their near flawless play was the fact they never went further than the Central time zone in all 3 rounds (NSH, COL, DAL)
