Just got back from game. The Canucks got a few lucky bounces, we had none. Luongo was sharp ... we had a few boneheaded plays that resulted in early goals. That hit on Kesler was dope ... Can't win them all. Still awesome to see them live.

I think everyone here knows that that goal NEVER would have counted had it been Detroit.

I know we are all pissed that the ref allowed that goal, but bigger picture.... terrible effort by Zata and another shortie where HUDLER was on the point. I'm not blaming Hudler for the goal, but we need a real defensman on the point for the power play.

I don't hate the Nucks, nor have I jumped on any hate bandwagon. I watched the WCF with my own two eyes. IMO it was a pitiful display. The Nucks have their rep for a reason. I hope it changes soon. And yes, people dive on all teams, even ours. The difference is that I actually call out the Wings when they do it, I don't giggle because they got away with it or got a call because of it. I consider it disgraceful and wish the refs would call it. And try not to get so defensive. Yes, you're in enemy territory, but I never even hinted that you should switch allegiances, nor was I holding Detroit up as some paragon. I didn't have to - we all know it already!

I lived in upstate NY for a couple years, and we spent every other weekend in Quebec. There is definitely an intolerance for all things non-francais. Countless times we were treated rudely, and we would just laugh at them and go somewhere else. Montreal proper is much more tolerant of Anglophiles. In my opinion, a Habs head coach should speak French...it's his job to communicate with the press, and French is the native language of the Province. Good point on the politicians....they're all crooks and use anything they can to distract people from real problems. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

I don't want to start a flame war about politics but... it's perfectly ordinary to see politicians stirring the pot with statements whenever they think they can gain any popularity, nevermind the subject and any common sense about issues really having anything to do with politics. so, apparently, Quebec officials decided, that their electorate is likely to appreciate government doing its best "Francophone small **** syndrome" impression. If anything, this speaks volumes about... the electorate. Aparently, French-Canadian are more concerned about the language than the fact that their team is worthless...

A lot of the things Filppula does on the ice doesn't show up on the score-sheet and he also is one of the few Wings who steps up his game significantly in the playoffs, but with that said a break out year is anywhere north of 50 points and I think he'll reach that mark this season.
