Cory Emmerton has developed into a very solid role player. One of the few players that has exceeded expectations this season.

I hope Toots loaded up on Caribou pregame and comes out flying and raises and sets the bar for energy and effort for the entire team tonight. 2pts cha cha cha!

Good. Toots brings the energy. Patty could hardly walk when I saw him in Nashville, so I was beyond surprised when he played last game. Perhaps that was a bad idea?? Wings will prevail tonight... I just know it!

Kicking it old-skool tonight - listening to the radio commentary over the internet whilst doing a nightshift. Not done this since, ooooh, 2008

I absolutely guarantee that we would regret trading Smith or even sitting him for extended periods of time. As I've said before, this is exactly what people were saying when Fischer came into the league. My lord people here hated him for quite some time. Yes, Smith hasn't been as good as we expected in his first season, but he'll get a lot better. To do that, not only does he have to stay here, but he has to get icetime. Some guys just take a couple of years to really get going. Obviously, especially with our suckage, peoples' patience is particularly short. But we can't be stupid about this - he will be a key part of our future. There's a reason that he's been highly touted.

Watching Dan Cleary play instead of him makes me sick to my stomach, every game.

Six outdoor games in 2014 for NHL

All throughout the lockout, I was wondering how Bettman was going to screw up this Winter Classic (and, in the process, create another Penguins Classic) and I guess I have my answer.

Mike Babcock Line swapping.. Too much?

Seriously, the past three years and especially this year the line swapping have been at a maximum. I feel like there's no opportunity for any chemistry being built. Don't get me wrong , I like Babcock, but how are you supposed to let team chemistry build if you just keep swapping guys back and forth ? He started the year with Z, Dats and Brunner, it wasn't doing good for a few games and he completely gave up on it? I mean, at some point you've got to realize that there simply isn't enough offense available right? In any case, does it logically make sense as a coach to swap lines so much? It takes time to built chemistry in a line.. You're at the end of the season and you haven't built any good chemistry at all.. Maybe he shouldn't have swapped around cuz it sure didn't make a difference at this point in the season. What are you thoughts?

LOL I know, I was expressing my frustration. Brunner creates the chance on the Wings' only goal, and then...doesn't get played? WTF?

The Sedin's and Burrows on a line is just disgusting. Talk about three gutless divers.

I'm warning everyone right now that I will cry if they lose tonight. It will be snotty and ugly and I will have a pounding headache afterward. So please, don't make me cry boys. It's not nice. LGW!

Nyquist has the same amount of goals in 2 less games in the AHL this year. I'm not convinced Tatar is this great shooter that people think he is. IMO, just from watching the games this season, Nyquist is the better player. He has really started controlling the game when he is out on the ice the last few weeks.

Quincey had 38 points in his first full season. I'm not giving up on Smith, but it's not like he's shown to be a great defensive guy at any level. He's always been a phyisical/point producer that took a ton of chances. Hopefully he can be Wisniewski-type soon, but right now a Wisniewski-type guy that doesn't produce is a terrible defenseman and that's why he is fighting to have a 6th spot on a bubble playoff team. I'm just not sold that he has the defensive mind to be a reliable #2, and don't want people to be disappointed if he ends up being a good depth man.

Agreed 110%. I don't agree with what Babs puts out on the ice but Holland is to blame for the s***ty contracts and lack of talent. Holland was betting on the big fish last year Parise and Suter and missed all the horses that would have worked well. Then he panicked and signed scrubs for not one but two freeking years.
