I almost passed out reading that first part. The sky is not falling, people. The clouds are definitely hanging low, but it's temporary. I'm aware of the irony of responding in this thread, but the point of the original post is completely ridiculous. The Wings, as well as any other team, could have a specf***ingtacular year, then tank in the first round. Consequently, I seem to recall the term "Dark Horse", where an unlikely contender makes a strong run in the playoffs. Two or three weeks of uncharacteristically crappy games hardly predicts a short visit to the playoffs. The only thing that will determine our ouster in the first round is if the other team wins four games before we do.

Love Petr as most of you know and I'm excited he's getting the chance to play and get better. He's NHL ready and this a great opportunity for him. I hope he does well. And if there's any gaps he'll fine tune them. He's young and a lot of people seem forget that. He's been thrown into the fire and he's done exactly what I expected. I don't remember we ever having a homegrown goalie that's come out playing like he has in this short amount of time. That being said, I want Jimmy to get back to being that goalie that he's been paid to be and he can do it. Jimmy, please get your head back into the game!

Wings will win, because I am going to have to miss the game today. I left explicit instructions for Gus Gus and Pookie to light up Bishop (Goalie Giagantor). The other three Wings who score will be Tater, Tinky, and Big E, just because that would be cool. D shows up and shuts down Stamkos - don't laugh, it could happen!! Looking forward to two great games this weekend where we score more than them! LGRW!!!!!

I'm going to be optimistic..., because, really what's the alternative.

The problem is that we moderated something. In Roboturner's perfect world, nothing on this site would get touched ever, anything that is said goes, and there are no repercussions for breaking the forums rules. We are going to moderate, because there are rules on this forum and it's our job to enforce them. If a GDT is going way off track after a loss and you lose a post because of the need for us to edit it, even though we at times have to remove dozens of other posts in the process that no one else seems to come here regularly and complain about, it's something you need to come to terms with. If this thread is to remain open solely for Roboturner to continue to revert back to in the event that we have to moderate something just to complain about, I don't see a constructive reason to leave it open at all. If you crave and explanation that badly, just let us know and we can submit formal warnings instead of simply removing the content, and in your warning you can have a detailed description of why it was moderated. So in response to "I see you guys are back to deleting my posts, meanwhile the "in" clique can post whatever the hell they want", my response is stop replying and contributing to off topic discussions that progress the derailing of threads and you won't have to worry about your posts being removed. We have full documentation of everything removed and it passes through Matt also, so instead of acting like the victim like we are pinpointing your individual post and removing it while leaving the rest up in the thread, state more factual information that isn't directed at bashing the moderation staff at every opportunity and state the truth that all the content is gone, including yours, that set that particular GDT off track.

He let in 1 bad goal the first one from couture was a perfect shot that not many goalies are going to save, he wasn't good in Florida I'll admit that, but was unbelievable in Pittsburgh. He plays the puck so well that I think he will be a major help in helping this not so great d-moving the puck out of their own zone. The more we can play out of our own zone the better we will be. Allowing are quick speedy forwards to get the puck and in on the opposition defense wearing them down.

Don't lose faith, there's always next year. Keep that dream alive. In response to the OP. IF this team can get healthy and IF the kids get a boost from some playoff adrenaline and IF, say Mrazek plays like Halak did for Montreal in 2010 and IF Babcock starts making better decisions and IF they get some puck luck, then maybe they can squirm their way out of the first round. But obviously that's a lot of IFs.

when I'm thinking of NHL ready goalies I'm thinking of Gibson, Talbot and to some extent Hammond. Mrazek is a rookie, who still has to round out his game and needs to avoid overreacting but anyway Babcock said he is going to start the next game and so we'll see how it turns out. but at the end of the day the Wings need Howard to get back to his pre-injury form.

He punished Kindl for scoring a goal and making a beautiful breakaway pass on Abdlekader's goal last game but doesn't punish Ericsson for being useless. He punishes Weiss for turning the puck over vs Boston but refuses to punish Nyquist, who turned the puck over at least six time tonight. I say he has the potential to be "that stupid".
