Clearly nobody has taught Richards that on the Red Wings you're supposed to blow those grade A chances high and wide.

Not sure how I feel about this move. We're already pretty deep at center and Oates is past his prime.

That was Wideman's first goal of the season. Of course it came against the Wings.

Win it for the Konstantinov jersey with the '97 Cup patch I just got for Christmas! They need to take charge from the first drop of the puck. The Wings haven't commanded a game in much too long. I want to see the Big Red Machine tonight, boys, and I'm not talking about Calgary. (I think the jersey has upped the hostility level)

    That lazy Mantha....

Hey now, if it wasn't for Anderson, they wouldn't have got a point tonight. But yeah, I agree, he shouldn't play unless absolutely necessary.

    Goalie Battle

All I'm going to say is this is. The last time the Red Wings won a Stanley cup. we had a goalie tandem. Osgood and Hasek split 50/50 during the season. Hasek was the starter in the playoffs. He didn't do well the first few games and we switched to Osgood. Osgood did really well. Turns out having 2 goalies with the ability to play at the NHL playoff level works out if one of them doesn't perform well.

    That lazy Mantha....

rant/ I don't understand the concept of rubbing people's opinions in their face when a situation changes on a message board where we are all a fan of the same thing. No one who thought Mantha wasn't cutting it *didn't* want him to turn it around. People weren't rooting for him to fail, they were pointing out that he was most certainly not living up to his hype--whatever the reason. I'm glad Mantha is doing well. I want him to become an absolute superstar. I'm glad he is starting to rock it. That doesn't change the fact that he previously wasn't, nor does it make the people who pointed this out idiots. I hope he has turned a corner, and we never have to wonder what the hell his problem is ever again. /rant

If we pursue the trading Howard line of thought, we have to consider who gets bumped up. If Mrazek got hurt, do we have a viable starter to fill in? I'm not so sure. Everyone says not having one starting goalie means your goalie situation is insecure. I disagree - the best part about the Howard/Mrazek duo right now is that our contribution from the goalie position is more secure than any other team in the league, even if there's an injury.

OK I am just curious to know if anybody remembers from the late 80's channel 9 sports reporter Marty Adler and this goofy clip he would always play called Chabot Sh-boom, werein John Chabot and I think maybe it was Adam Graves, Gerard Gallant, and somebody else Shawn Burr??) were all shown in the Wings locker room shower --from the waist up-- kind of dancing and singing their version of the the 50's song "Sh-boom, Sh-boom." "Chabot Sh-boom, yada da yada da yada da yada da, Chabot Sh-boom" etc etc I know I am going to take all kinds of grief for this post, but what the heck, it was so bizarre I wanted to make sure it wasnt all the drugs and my imagination.
