But if he wouldn't want to come here via UFA, then there is no way we'd make a list of approved teams to be traded to. You can pretty much guarantee that whatever extension he signed would have a clause in it so he can control where he doesn't go. If we have zero chance to sign him UFA, then why would we be a place he'd allow a trade to?

So, what you're saying is, if The Wings trade for him, they have zero chance of re-signing him. And before you say sign and trade, guarantee Karlsson will have a clause to which he gives Ottawa a list of teams. So, if you're saying Detroit has zero chance at him as a UFA, then we surely will not be on his approved list.

Oof. Hard to narrow it down to just three, but, yeah, I think I'm in agreement. Rasmussen was underwhelming against Minnesota but was much better last night. Vili Saarijarvi's been hampered by some kind of nagging ailment that's caused him to miss parts of both games. He's looked ok. Givani Smith hasn't shown up on the score sheet, but not for a lack of opportunities. He's been fun to watch. Jared McIsaac is looking like someone who probably shouldn't have slipped to the 2nd round of the draft. Patrik Rybar was solid in net against Minnesota. I thought Axel Holmstrom, like Rasmussen, was underwhelming against Minnesota and much better against Dallas. David Pope hasn't impressed me.

My personal top 3 would be... 1. Cholowski 2. Veleno 3. Zadina

Also because they were drafted in positions they weren’t supposed to be so it doesn’t click with fans that they may actually be good. Like Rasmussen over Vilardi and Cholo being picked 20th pissed people off and there’s still some inner shade. Cholowski currently leading in points.

People should be high on Rasmussen because he’s going to finish the tournament as the Wings best player. Him and Cholo are very underrated prospects around the league. I think that’s why fans try not to be overly optimistic about their potential. It takes a few years before people forget about their draft day coverage of the prospect

Cholowski scores on a 5-on-3 PP with just under a minute left in the second. Rasmussen and Zadina with the assists. End of 2nd. Wings lead 2-0. Wings outshooting the Stars 20-8. Wings limited the Stars to two shots through the whole period. Good stuff.
