Seider-Raymond-Edvinsson is a better trio than any other team has drafted over the last 3 years.

Pretty sure I said they would finish outside the playoffs but above the bottom 10.

It's entirely possible that we got the best three players from each of the last three drafts. Or at least, we got guys that are on par with the best players of each of those drafts. I'm still not convinced that Owen Power is any better than Edvinsson, and I think Edvinsson still has quite a lot of room for improvement too.

Oh I know. Hey, in this case it's a win for you and the Wings. Not really a hot take or anything and it's still wayyyyy early but it would be pure bliss if Raymond ends up being the best player from the 2020 draft. Considering the year the Wings and their lack of lotto luck.

I believe we really need 1 last opportunity to nab a quality player with a pick somewhere between 5 thru 10 (at least having more options to choose from - for all we know Yzerman/Verbeek/scouts might feel the 'BPA' could be some kid that's listed #7, or #8 overall by the likes of Button/McKenzie). I agree it's great to see this young team coming together, but in the long run is making the playoffs, or finishing 11th or higher in our best interest?

I really don't want picks as the center part of these trades though. At a certain point you have to start building and not trading anything that's not nailed down for guys who may or may not be any good 3-4 years down the road (typical timeline for late 1st/2nd round picks). I'd rather we look to established young guys who are on teams that are either A) up against the cap and need to offer better returns for cap relief, or B) too deep to give these guys a bigger role. I think Yzerman likes Larkin, Bert, Fabbri, and (maybe) Vrana and Hronek as the older leadership group on the team. As good as we've played this year I don't see him moving any of these guys. I can envision a world in which we're competing for Cups with the guys mentioned above as our 28-31 year old veteran leaders and Raymond, Seider, Edvinsson, and Cossa are our stud young guns. But we still need to add a center who fits one of the two age groups.

DeBrusk aint a 0.5ppg right now. Thats why Boston is willing to accodommate his trade request. And with a coach not willing to give him any chances they are selling low. Not really that interested in him to be honest but if you dont have to give up too much it could be a good trade. He has scored a good amount of goals in the past and he can find opportunity here to bounce back.
