Edvinsson had surgery in May with an expected 4-6 month recovery time. He'll be in GR to get back into game shape. It's ridiculous to expect a 20-year-old defenseman, who cannot put in work at the gym all summer, to step into the NHL and produce to start the season. Let's be realistic here. -
1 point100%, and I don't think enough is made of the fact that having top six centers that score 70-90 pts and play excellent defense is a better situation than having someone that scores 100+ that gets shut down and/or can't stop other (marginally less talented) opposing forwards. Yzerman is building a powerhouse, the right way, and I think we're only a year or two of development away from seeing that strategy bear fruit.
