I'm not of the opinion that Beggren is any better than Kane, and I don't agree Kane is in "his" spot. Beggren wasn't on this team long before Kane. I like Bergs, he's talented, but he's losing his spot to guys like Fischer, Reese, and Czarnik, because he's at the end of the day a soft euro forward in need of sheltering. He's getting that in the AHL. He's like Hirose+

How many posts and crossbars has Kaner hit? The flood gates are about to open.

I think this is the game where we finally start to right the ship. Been a tough go lately but it happens to the best teams too. But we've gotta get some points back in the bank and here's where it starts. Our physicality should be hard for Anaheim to handle given that they're a team of young guys and skill players. Look for a big game from our bottom six. I like Fabbri for a goal and two assists tonight. LGW!!!

Take a look at the size of Howard's fingers. He looks like his gall bladder or kidneys or something doesn't work. Like, this dude looks like he's got some weird s*** like Hashimodo's disease or something.

I'm not ready to call the Kane experiment "failed" but I'm 100% sure we'd be a better team right now with Berggren in that roster spot, all else being equal. Assuming he's not struggling in the same way that Backstrom was after his return, it's still going to take Kane a while to get up to speed. I don't mind giving him that time when we're winning. But he's not a better player than Berggren right now and when we're losing, down four regular fowards, and can't score we're not in a position to rely on him at the moment. I see that too, and I've got my fingers crossed as much as then next guy. But there's also a universe in which his skill and brain allow him to get chances that his body just can't finish anymore. In the meantime we're losing games and have a better (similarly styled) winger in GR doing jack s***. Personally I'd get Kane out of the top six and off the top powerplay until he's up to speed. I can see him working well with a center that hustles and a winger with some skill. Let him feast on 3rd pair dmen until he's ready for a bigger work load. Kane is worse than a waste of space. They keep trying to defer to him all the time in the offensive zone. Especially on the power play, and it's messing everything up. I'd be giving Raymond the puck instead.

It's hard to tell whether you're being serious or doing that thing where people on LGW say intentionally obnoxious stuff because they need attention (and dopamine). But in the interest of good faith I'll assume the former and not the latter. Michael Rasmussen has 8 pts in his last 8 games and 9 pts (5 goals) in his last 10 games. He's done it while playing up and down the lineup, center and wing, as well as killing penalties and has even been on the powerplay with Larkin, Compher, and Perron out. He and Veleno have logged the hardest minutes on the team since Larkin was injured and IMO have performed as well as humanly possible. Where's Debrincat? Where's Kane? Where's Seider and Walman (defensively)? Rasmussen a floater? Lol. He's stepped up more than anyone. Now seeing that Lalonde says Larkin will be in the lineup tonight. I'm pumped.

The big man is starting to hit his stride. I'd argue Husso and Copp have been marginally more disappointing but that's just me. And it appears Lyon is day to day, returning sooner than later.

Rasmussen needs to take that next step that Veleno has taken. Veleno is involved / engaged every shift now. Once we get that out of #27, we will be a tougher team. Ras just floats out there looking for something to happen. We need him to make things happen. He's been the biggest disappointment besides Yzerman signing 3 defensive pylons, imo.

Helene St. James reporting that the Wings are expecting to have Larkin tonight. Thank god. The appeal is mostly about getting him some salary back. There's almost no chance that the appeal will be complete before his suspension is over but he's sacrificing nearly 150K in salary. If the appeal reduces the number of games he'll get money back, but obviously won't sit out fewer games after the fact (from what I understand).

Has Perron had his appeal yet?? Seems the league is making it stick by delaying the appeal. If I were the PA, I'd be screaming for a change... the player plays until the appeal is heard, I think MLB does that is I'm not mistaken.

Forgot to post a cool moment from the game. We had a young kid(12 -14)with his dad sitting behind us kid was wearing Canes jersey In between 2nd and 3rd he is talking to the usher and how he loves the Canes then the Wings. Yeah I eavesdropped ...lol At the start of the 3rd the usher points to the kid and dad and gets them all the way down to sit right behind the glass of the Canes bench. I figured Dave the usher deserved a shoutout as he basically made that kids night in a big way.
