I don't want any cap space used in free agency, unless it's on a Tavares or Carlson type player, or trade, unless it's a top end player in his prime.
Holland having a lot of cap space makes me a little nervous. Especially if he has a target in mind and he signs elsewhere, presses the panic button on the next best thing, which is a huge downgrade...

I get that, but it would be nice to have a true goal scorer also. One that can create his own shot and finish. As I said I know we need a Dmen more, in general it would help complete the team more. I don't disagree, it's more of a selfish request on my end.

I've long been a fan of Faulk, and I'd love to acquire such a player. I'm just not sure if I'd want to give up the assets to acquire a player having 4 consecutive seasons trending in the wrong direction. He's only 26 years old, but also only has two years remaining on a reasonably cap friendly contract. I guess it depends on the cost, and whether or not we could move any defensemen in separate deals...

Imagine how exciting it would be if there were 30 GM's in the league like Marc Bergevin / Peter Chiarelli...

There are also rumblings of the Jets possibly having issues re-signing Trouba again this summer. I'm sure they'll work something out, and much like Wahlstrom and Bean, it's just a pipedream, but imagine somehow acquiring Trouba as well...
Our D could look something like this in a couple years time...
DeKeyser - Trouba
Bean - Bouchard
Cholowski - Hronek
And our top 6 could look something like this...
Mantha - Larkin - Wahlstrom
Bertuzzi - Rasmussen - Bokk
 
But of course, none of this will happen. We won't make any meaningful trades or free agent signings, and we won't draft any of the players mentioned...

How can you hate so many teams and so many players? I don't get it...
For me, the team I hate the most (the Hawks) are out, which is great, as long as they don't win the draft lottery. The only other teams I do not want to see win it this year, are the Pens and Leafs. F*** No! to the Pens because the thought of a team (besides the Wings) making a three-peat makes me sick, and F*** No! to the Leafs because I would never hear the end of it...
I want Vegas bounced first round, because like others mentioned, we need that pick to be as high as possible. I'd like to see Philly go deep, in hopes that they can somehow make the ECF and Mrazek win 6 games, to turn that 3rd (assuming they make the playoffs) into a 2nd. Highly unlikely, but I'll be rooting for them for sure.
The only team I really like in the East is Tampa, in the West, I love Winnipeg and like Nashville as well. I'm hoping for a Lightning vs Jets final. Would be an epic series in my opinion.
We really need to get lucky on draft lottery day, which is April 28th.
I'll be in Alberta visiting my sister and brother-in-law at the end of the month. He's a huge Habs fan, so I'm hoping Detroit move up to 1 and Montreal drop back 2 or 3 spots...

It's supposed to be deep as well. highlighted by the player that Bob McKenze says, if he were in the 2018 draft, he would be the ONLY player to knock Dahlin out of the #1 spot.  Jack Hughes. IF for some reason we don't get Dahlin this season, I would love to see a Tank for Hughes! Hell, even if we got Dahlin, I'd still love to try to tank for Hughes.

Z gonna need 2 more season to catch Daniel, I don't know about Henrik. I think he plays one more season, finishes just behind Daniel breaking into 1000, guessing around 1010 points. The Sedin's still have little more than 200 games played on Z, which is kind of crazy to think about.
I wonder if Bäckström can catch or pass Alfredsson. He'll be around 1073 if he can avg 70 for the next 4 years. Which makes him 34-35 I think.

Vegas could have got him for free and passed and Philly didnt want him a week ago. It took a playoff team losing both goalies for Mrazek to have any type of trade value. He was never going to stay in Detroit so might as well get something for him while you can. 

That's good news?  There's no confirmation there will be a Seattle franchise, and even if there is, it would be a few years before they'd actually get a team.
That means a few more years of Ken Holland.  He should step down after the season.

I hope we trade Green to the Leafs (no lottery protection) and they free fall out of a playoff position, and win the draft lottery...
