timothy1997 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 Only 676 hours til Ohio State-Michigan.... is that including the daylight savings time adjustment??? I honestly am amazed that MSU won. Just like the Lions, when you bury the team and just want to get the season over with...they pull out a W when you least expect it.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 is that including the daylight savings time adjustment??? Heyyyyyy.....good point. I forgot about that. So it's actually 667 hours now instead of 666.

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 I just hope those modifications don't destroy the ability to expand. It was built purposely to be able to go out to 150,000 capacity. I'd hate for some school somewhere to decide to make theirs bigger.

This additon does add 2000 more seats I THINK, but not sure. There have been rumors for years now that Texas A/M will expand to 115,000....don't know why they need that many seats b/c their A&M, but it's probally just for status. Anyone watch the Clemson game? RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 I'll take a 20-6 win over Iowa - nothing fancy today. I love how the espn gamenight crew highlights and says "Michigan rolls" over Iowa. For those of us who saw the game - that was definitely not a roll - lol. I'm flying in for the homecoming game vs. Northwestern next weekend - save some good weather for me please! After today, I think I can safely say I'm looking forward to a UM-OSU classic.

I totally don't agree with the bottom three there. And Clemson looks good whenever they're not wearing any purple or all orange. Cal's are not so good, but they're not that bad. West Virginia has one of my least favorites. Miami's are pretty ugly. Oregon State, Virginia Tech (especially when they wear that stupid orange sleeve), and Toledo also make my list. Your right VaTechs are really bad with the orange sleeves...so are Florida's when they have the orange sleeve. Another one I can't believe I didn't think of is MSU. I hate not having names, and I don't like the lettering on the front. The jerseys they had in the Jeff Smoker days were way better

The jerseys they had in the Jeff Smoker days were way better I hope you don't mean those ones they had with the awful pinstripes on the sleeves. That was one of the silliest things I've ever seen. My grandmother took one look at those and said they looked like some kind of dress that was fashionable in about the 1910's. Which she hated.

Everything's bigger in Texas A&M is planning on expanding eventually. I will be kinda surprised if it happens though. Aggies tend to be very set in their ways. Kyle Field got a new scoreboard and new ribbon boards this year, and there were angy letters to the editor for a month about it. As for jerseys, the current MSU jerseys are waaaaaaay better than the ones when Smoker was here. I hated the pin stripes.
Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 It seems like MSU changes their jerseys or at least something on their uniforms every year anymore so its hard for me to remember what year it was when they wore what.

BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 ^^^ I didn't like those jerseys for a few reasons. First off, I like the Spartan head on the helmet instead of the block S. I didn't like the pinstripes, and I always thought the green for those jerseys just didn't look right.

I actually liked the helmets against ND the most. Reminded me of USC's. How this day is going though everyone on here probally hates those too
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 22, 2006 Yup, those are the pinstripes alright. Pretty ridiculous looking. I agree with everyone....the spartan logo is much better than the S on the helmets. But no, not the older Trojan-looking one. The one they have now is pretty sharp. I think State's best look was a little while ago, when they had three stripes on the pants in a thin-thick-thin pattern and MICHIGAN STATE across the front, with the spartan helmet and matching stripes on the helmet (vice the no-stripe helmet they have now). I think that's what they had in the late '90s.

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted October 23, 2006 Michigan is number two in the BCS. That is pure win. I don't really understand what the hell this means: "USC and Michigan are tied for the top spot in the computer ratings with Ohio State third," All of the polls available to the public have OSU at #1, but whatever. #1, #2, doesn't matter when Nov. 18th rolls around. The computers don't take the polls into account. They're separate. At this point I'd say that OSU is only #1 and Michigan is only #2 because they don't allow #1 and #1A. OSU gets the #1 spot by virtue of being there first.
Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted October 23, 2006 (edited) This may just be a biased opinion...but the closest game OSU has had yet is a 17 point win at defending national champion Texas...at night...on the road. Ohio State - 279 vs. (3 teams ranked) Opponents - 66 Michigan - 238 vs. (1 team ranked) Opponents - 101 Doesnt prove anything, but Ohio State has been the more dominant team. I think we've more than earned the number one spot, but like Heroes of Hockeytown said, it doesn't matter because that can all change Nov. 18. I like our chances at home, but this is the best Michigan team in nearly a decade. Edited October 23, 2006 by Hockeytown Red Wings
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted October 23, 2006 In fairness to Michigan... Iowa would've been ranked, they just had a bad game the week prior. Surely, they were looking for redemption for not only that but last year's loss and were pumped up to play the maize and blue. I don't feel there's any reason to believe they weren't back to playing like one of the top 25 teams in the nation this Saturday, for all the good that it did them.
