Has anyone noticed what a phenomenal week this is for football? Check out the matchups:

Florida State-NC State: the Wolfpack upset Boston College a couple weeks ago and FSU is vulnerable.

Purdue-Iowa: the Boilermakers are back on the rise.

Clemson-Wake Forest: time to find out if Wake is for real at 5-0 so far.

Navy-Air Force: leg 1 of the race for the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy.

Washington-USC: the Huskies are dangerous again.

LSU-Florida: separation game in the SEC.

Texas-Oklahoma: the Red River Shootout! It's the closest thing the rest of the country has to Michigan-Ohio State, in terms of interstate rivalries.

Michigan-Michigan State: poor, poor Sparty.

Tennessee-Georgia: another separation game in the SEC.

Oregon-Cal: huge Pac-10 matchup.

First week of the season where the pecking orders will really start to be established. This is gonna be a good Saturday.

You delusional Wolverine fans and beating us twice in one year. Lloyd better just worry about beating us once a year first. JT's in his head.

Why are we even talking about this? U-M isn't going to play OSU twice. Don't worry Lloyd is only worrying about beating O$U once this year.

The line on the Michigan-Michigan State game ranges from 15.5 to 17.5. That's pretty brutal for Sparty. Stanton probable, but still injured, and no Ringer should make it a no contest true blue win.

That's what I'm worried about.

If it's one thing you learn watching Michigan ball... beware the Spartans' upset capability.

I'll say U-M by a late FG in Saturday's showdown--24 to 21.

I'm sorry but Stanton is a real dumbass for saying this the day before game day.

"In my house it [Michigan] is known as the University of Puke."

"I'm looking forward to going down there and playing in an adverse situation and playing in front of the quietest 110,000 people you could ever play in front of."

Do you know you've never beat U-M and are playing the No. 1 D in the country? If you say this after you win I don't have a problem, but before its pretty stupid in my opinion.

Hopefully the U-M players hear it and get fired up. A blowout would be nice, but I expect a close game.

Huh. That's funny considering it's MSU that wears green.

Ooooh, by the way, how bout this for a score: Arkansas 27, Auburn 10. Didn't see that one coming. Opens up a spot in the Top 5 if Michigan can keep winning.

Eat that Stanton you choke. You and Kirk Herstreit should go drink a beer because you both finished 0-4 against the good guys in your career.

Too bad USC escaped a close one. I think the rankings should be OSU, U-M, FLA, and then USC.

Unfortunately people think West Virginia belongs too. Auburn lost, so the rankings will probably just bump everyone up one: 1. OSU; 2. USC; 3. WV; 4. UF; 5. UM. West Virginia is what annoys me. USC and Florida will eventually lose.

Well they won by 18 so the odds makers were right on - you could call it an 18 pt blowout- Lloyd never runs the score up. No real pleasure in beating a disheveled Spartan team, except if Stanton made those dumb remarks, he then deserves this. Personally, the Tigers were more exciting today - kicking the Yankees' ass is more fun than kicking the downtrodden Spartans' ass imo.

I was at the Big House for yesterday's game, and it was actually really cool when they annonced the Tigers score. U-M/MSU fans were all going crazy togehter. For that short moment no one cared about either team just everyone celebrating together.

Michigan jumped to 4th in the writers' poll, behind only OSU, Florida, and USC, though they only moved to 5th in the coaches poll. And for some reason, there are 2 insane writers (probably in Morgantown and Charleston) picking West Virginia #1.

Looking forward to the BCS standings coming out, I think it's next week or the week after. The computers will put West Virginia where they belong.

I haven't read anything about it, so I'm assuming Hart and Manningham are AOK?

Haven't heard about Manningham. Probably good to go. Hart said he would have gone back in the game, but it was already under control so there was no point. No doubt Hart will be playing against Penn State, and probably Manningham too.
