Holland shopping?

This photo is SO unrealistic. Everyone knows that Grigs wears #21 and I don't see Forsberg having any right to take it away from him.

What if Fors proves he's better than Grigs Hank? Will he deserve to have 21 back then?

The three contests will involve these tasks:

-Sleeping

-Chowing McDonald's on off-days

-Stretching out supine on the couch watching Heroes/House/The Office/Popular Tv Show Of Your Preference

Let us not forget, Forsberg has had time to train in his "offseason". It could be a close match-up.

the TSN panel was on saying that they think the Leafs might trade Sundin to us if they are out of it by the deadline...wouldn't mind seeing him in the Winged Wheel

Yes but at what price?

Seriously bro, you wouldn't trade Filpulla for Doan straight up? I like Flip, but I agree, that would be a no-brainer.

If we were to get Doan, I'd only do it so he would play with Flip. It would solidfy our second line while keeping Franzen or Hudler on the left.

It's a tough call on who does get traded though, and we have no idea what the Coyotes demands would be. I don't see it happening even with Flip in the trade.

shopping 9 games into the season..

a bit unnecessary..

i'm waiting for 20 games before i write off Hudler, Kopecky and Lebda..

i'm losing my patience with Rex though..

What about Filppula? Why does he get a free pass even though he has no points to Hudler and Kopecky each having 2?

Lindros? Carter? O'Neill? Friesen???

...Are you guys actually serious???

This team has MORE than its fair share of guys that *might* put up 20 goals in a season. At this point, Id take Sammy and/or Franzen over any of those guys. You keep on tossing out 500k here, 650k there, and it starts to add up.

Like somebody else said, RYDER, DOAN, and FORSBERG are the only names mentioned in this thread that are of any worth. You know what youre getting with those guys and theyre all bona fide top 6 talent. Anything outside of guys like that is a complete waste of roster and cap space.

Foresberg can't find a skate that will work on his surgically repaired ankle. How much is he worth if he can't skate. I'll pass.

What about Filppula? Why does he get a free pass even though he has no points to Hudler and Kopecky each having 2?

Because he is much better defensively than Hudler or Kopecsky.

Are you kidding me???? Homer Simpson couldn't beat Grigs in those categories!

That's a load of crap. The Leafs are not going to trade Sundin, he is their only decent player. Sundin is Sweedish, Detroit has lots of Swedes, therefore Sundin will be traded to Detroit. That's pretty stupid logic.

I'd take him in a minute but it's just not going to happen,

I agree.

Besides, there would be a revolt if the Leafs dealt Sundin before they dished off McCabe, Kubina or Gill.

Ahhhh, statistics! The definitive statement of a player's worth!

They're all invisible out there. Hudler got a neat tap in goal... and I'm sure Kopecky's points weren't instrumental in finishing the play. I'm not worried about Flip or Huds yet, but the fact remains that we'll need to make a move sometime this year.

Flip needs a sniper on the wing that he can rely on. Sammy is solid can move the puck dosnt make bonehead mistakes has a decent shot. handles puck well.. Rex seems a lil lost, but i think he'll get focused soon. i still got faith in Kopecky to come around. Only person i have lost faith in is Kronner.

I like Flip but I don't think he's ready to be the #2 centre.

Wings need to get a winger so they can separate Z and Dats to give us more depth and balance.

Doan isnt going anywhere.... Phoenix would make us pay dearly for Doan.... right now he is their main guy who is going to lead the young Coyotes team into the future of the franchise.... its like saying we would let Zetts go. Not happening!

Holy crap!! That would be sweet to see Sundin in Detroit!! I mean yea.. not for a Leaf fan.. but the guy does deserve a shot at the cup and with us is definitly an improvement! I love Sundin and the Leafs though so it would be a sad day for them.. But if we win the cup I'm sure he can take it over to Toronto so they can drool over it lol.

I'm not ready to give up on flippula, hudler, kronwall, grigs, kopecky, but um... for Sundin... trade away Holland! lol

although i agree and i believe that in all likelihood sundin will retrire as a leaf (and thus, without a cup), i have been giving this issue a lot of thot, and i think that it would really be a smart move for everyone involved.

it would be smart for toronto, cuz lets face it, they are going to have to start rebuilding at some point. this team, with the core of guys it has now (with $41 million ties up in contracts for next season) has only a small prayer for even being a playoff team let alone a cup contender. The smart thing for them to do now is to accept that they're f***ed, try and dump all their retarded contracts (easier said than done) like mccabe, kubina, probably raycroft, and yes, sundin (note that im not saying that sundin is overpayed, only the previously mentioned guys) and start building again from the ground up with some promising picks and prosepcts. there is no point for sundin to stick around and watch his career dissepate as the team dismantles before being rebuilt. (of course, ferguson has to go asap)

it would be an uber-smart move for sundin. there is really no point in him to stcik around in toronto, because he has no hope there, by the time they become a cup contender again, hell be long retired im sure. thus, if he had any desire to win a stanley cup before he retires, he should be traded to a genuine cup contender. hmmm, lets see....hoos a pormising cup contender with ample cap room?? o ya, we are. to top that off, im sure hes buddy buddies with at least a couple of our swedish boys. as far as i'm concerned, its a match made in heaven

and of course it would be smart for detroit, for obvious reasons. sundin is a great talent, and if u've been watching leafs hockey thus far this season, he is one of the most dominant centres in the game, straight up. sure, he would come at a price as far as picks and prospects go, but as i like to see it, most of our talent seems to come from later on in the draft anyways. I tend to not worry to much about the wings trading away hi picks,we've got a badass (thats a good thing) scouting crew.

I used to hate Sundin like i hate the rest of the leafs, but ever since the rest of his team has started playing like my little brothers house league peewee team, he's really elevated his game to a new level, and I really like it.

of course, i truly believe that none of this will happen, because for wutever reason, sundin has this ridiculous loyatly to the organization that has really hung him out to dry over the past few years. Most of the time I would applaud this loyalty, but not in this case. so it seems that in all likelihood, just as the leafs wither away, so will sundin, whcih seems entirely regrettable. but hey, if im wrong, ill be the happiest guy in the world, i believe that IF he is going to go anywhere , it will be detroit, and that would be perfect.

man im glad to get that all off my chest.
