hopefully the Wings bring their A-game tonight for the back to back.

Is Chelios not playing? He got a ton of minutes last night. 22 minutes, more than anyone else.

And Lids and Rafalski were rested by "only" playing 21 minutes and 18 minutes respectively. Babs clearly is planning ahead.

we will need to dig deep since Blues will come out REALLY fired up with sold out crowd behind them.

We always have trouble against quick opponent who doesn't let us set up our play. Keep things simple and QUICK.

Well I was right last night when I said we'd score 3, so I think tonight will be...

5-3 Wings. Pav,Fil, Kronwall, Hank, and Cleary.

i miss aflac. Whatever happened to him. No offence to whomever is making the game day threads. I jsut miss his franzenstien picture and the notion that somehow lilja has legally changed his name to pain train. Anyway wings win in a close one. 2-1 ozzie holds us in this one till hank finally realizes that he wants to win the scoring race and dekes out every blue three times before putting in the net

I think that's so cool how he changes their name. Over in another thread we said that whoever makes the GDT should put "The Nickidge" for Nick. :sly:

I shall be able to resume GDT soon. Not until after Christmas though. I can't stand the terrible work hours they gave me now, glad they wont be permanent. :D

Thursday's morning skate

-- Kris Draper will be back in the lineup tonight in St. Louis, despite having been told earlier this week that he wouldn't play back-to-back nights coming back from a strained knee.

"That was the one thing that mentally I didn't want," said Draper. "I didn't want to play a game and have to sit one out, then wait a couple of days to play. This is good. Get right back into it."

Aaron Downey will be a healthy scratch for the second straight night.

-- Chris Chelios skated this morning, but will get the night off just for rest purposes. Derek Meech will be in the lineup tonight.

Probable line combinations ...

DETROIT

Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom

Hudler-Filppula-Samuelsson

Franzen-Draper-Cleary

Ellis-Kopecky-Drake

Lidstrom-Rafalski

Kronwall-Lilja

Meech-Lebda

Osgood (starts)

ST. LOUIS

Salvador-Brewer

McKee-Jackman

Backman-E. Johnson

Little sis, (big fan of Kariya) will be taping the game for me. I should know by her expression if he scores.

Prediction for the night: A goalie will win against his former team.

Out on a limb prediction: Said goalie will be wearing a Winged Wheel.

Wings: Z, Dats, Kronner, Cheli

Blues: Kariya

(Paul's theme song, to the tune of "I guess that's why they call it the blues".)

I guess that's why he signed with the Blues.

Preds on the block, he had nothing to lose.

Without Selane, one team's like another,

Might as well play with his baby brother.

And I guess that's why he signed with the Blues.

Wings' Babcock sits Chelios vs. Blues

"What do you want me to say? I'm happy about it?" said Chelios, who definitely was not happy with the news.
Cheli is pissed about sitting out. :flamingmad: <--- Cheli at his house, stewing and throwing darts at Babs' picture.

Nonetheless, Wings 3 (Huds, Dats, Homer) Blues 0 (A Blue Christmas forthcoming)

Go Ozzie! Go Wings!

No surprise here.

Babcock has said flat out he knows these guys (Cheli and Drake) don't like being sat. That they're hard-headed and competitors. Of course they want to play every game. But he knows he needs them to be fresh come playoff time.

As I mentioned earlier, Cheli got a lot more minutes than usual last night. I'm sure he knew this was coming.

Mickey was doing the GDTs lately. And they were really good. Should have let him do it. It's all good though.

Red Wings 3(Drake, Datsyuk, Flipper)

Blues 0

Ozzie with the "S" word. (don't wanna jinx him)lol

Thanks for the nod. Really didn't have time to do it today so it is nice that someone else took it up.

I will try to get the one up for Saturday's game.

4-3 Wings. Hudler, Zetts, Rafalski, Drake

I don't care how bad we beat them, just put that whiny ***** Kariya in his place! :sly:

I HATE PAULA KARYIA TOO!!!! I still say he is the most overrated player in the league bar none!! HAIL SCOTT STEVENS in the 03 Cup Finals!! Why teams sign this piece of trash to big contracts is beyond me!!

Wings 3 (Hudler, Zetterberg, Homer)

Blues 2 (Boyes with 2)

Keep it rolling, red and white!

Pretty good day when I get to watch 2 Wings games (DVR'ed the FSD replay since those aren't blacked out and watched it when I got up)

HAIL SCOTT STEVENS in the 03 Cup Finals!!

Hail Gary Suter ;)

Someone putting Kariya through the boards tonight would also be appreciated

just great! how in the hell do i know which goalie is starting tonight!!! I live for this GDT to at least inform me of who is in net. I am thinking Ozzie will play since Hasek played last night tho.

I actually know people in Marine City. :o

Blues will upset the Wings 3-4. Will get some lucky bounces, a lot of energy early, and the Wings will mount a comeback but fall short even though they have 49 shots on goal.

Rafalski will score some sort of ridiculous goal, hopefully for the Wings, not against.

No Cheli!! That sucks.

But I still predict a butt whooping to the Blueberries.

Go Ozzie!!

And of course-Go Wings!!

Terri, you're in charge of the GDT and Booos-whoopin' tonight. I got talked into going to a Christmas party. What was I thinking, when the real party will be here? :P

Got the DVR rollin' so I won't miss the fun. Ya'll have a great night! I will czech in when I get home. Some of you are bound to still be here.

We haven't faced another Central team in nearly a month,no wonder we're 10-1.

Manny's going to pull off an all-star performance, but Ozzie will do the same.

3-2 WINGS (Kronwall,Cleary & Hudler)
