Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 TSN Power Rankings I have no problem with the power rankings, they are probably correct. I do have a problem with TSN's choice of words. "Class" and "Ducks" don't belong in the same sentence, unless the sentence is "The Anaheim Ducks have no class." I think the phrase "class of the league" is reserved for the team that plays hockey within the rules the best. Not the team that cheapshots and gets enough bad calls until they win. Also, the "class of the league" doesn't need two players to return to the team after half a season to be considered the "class of the league" or even be considered play-off contenders, they are the best no matter what players are or are not on the roster. Especially if they are clearly better on paper. More venting to follow if the Ducks don't make the post.
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 TSN also has Ottawa's key injuries as the same as the Red Wing Learn to proof read TSN...learn to proof read...

jim3033 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Oh, TSN loves Anaheim because there are a bunch of Canadiens on the team. Did you hear Don Cherry bad mouthing those Europeans on Saturday?
JayUp88 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 My Canadian friend loves ESPN, but hates TSN. Doesn't make sense because I love TSN and hate ESPN. I think people just like what they don't have more.
Zion 93 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 TSN over ESPN is correct. Shows what true rags ESPN articles are.
wingsfan75 2 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 ORLY class of the league eh. They showed so much class last Sunday with all the cheap shots they were throwing around. Let the MIGHTY Ducks have all the sunshine they want, it just makes them the bigger target.

Zion 93 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 The Ducks are already set up for the playoffs. Very few other teams can say this.
ashenhigh 9 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 (edited) Ducks are the class of the league huh? I guess elbows to the face wouldnt contribute to being classless or anything. And whats this crap with the sens at number 2? They are playing awful, and NJ/Montreal have tied them for the lead in the East. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 The Ducks are already set up for the playoffs. Very few other teams can say this. Yup. If the Wings add a top 6er a cheap bottom sixer, and a top 4 Dman, then itd be like Detroit already having traded for Stuart and Prospal.
puckbags 863 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 I look at this way...they are still the best and they are still the cup champs until someone knocks them off. I don't have to like them or like the way they play but you do have to respect they are the champs...for now. I don't think they are a better team then they were last year and I think we are. We lost to them last year but we proved we weren't intimidated by their style..if we get a couple pieces at the deadline or if we don't I don't have a worry about playing the Ducks, bring them on!! Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Who cares...they are Power Rankings, not the NHL Standings, where we still sit 16 points up on them with a game in hand. Besides we all know a description involving the word 'class' is ridiculous when talking about team with guys like Pronger and Parros.
cirov19 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 (edited) Haha the Ducks. Any team with Pronger is automatically removed from the 'Class of the League' category. Edited February 19, 2008 by cirov19

Don Cherry has nothing to do with TSN.. Im having a hard time why the Stars are that low, there probably the hottest team in the last 10 games
Mudvayneowns91 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 For hockey, I'm sure TSN is the way to go. Especially because NHL seems to be the whipping boy for ESPN. For every other sport, I go to ESPN.
Opie 308 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Who is better then the ducks right now tbh? us? ott? no. then who? In the past 2 weeks or so the only team I see maybe Dallas? they are 9 of 10, I think Anaheim is like 6 of 10 over that same time span, including a lost to Dallas. I think the return of Teemu had more to do with this than their record. I don't think the Wings should be higher than Ana but I think at least one team belongs above them. wingnut40 176 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 The Ducks have won six of seven and they're starting to look like still the class asses of the league. Fixed it.
IwoCPO 7 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 If I was objective, which I most definitely am not, I'd say Anaheim is the favorite right now. Selanne and Niedermayer are fresh. They've added Schneider and Bertuzzi. They're relatively injury free and they're finding their game again. Wings will have to be just as healthy and playing at the very top of their game to beat the Poultry in a series. Is it impossible? Of course not. But, dirty or not, cheap or not, distasteful as it is to us all: Anaheim is the class of the league right now. And if they land a scorer (Sundin, Hossa, Jokinen), they'll be even tougher. Opie 308 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 I tend to think Yahoo does an OK job of staying true to the sports they are reporting so I read a lot more hockey news there. Football or Baseball I go to ESPN, basketball I go to Boston.com because I only follow the C's not the sport really. If that makes any sense. Here are there rankings, plus a little tid bit on buyers and sellers: http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=Auti...o&type=lgns for those of you who could give a crap about the blurbs here is a basic list: Dal Det NJ Mon Ott Min Ana Pit SJ Van Cal Nas Phx Bos Phi Was NYR STL Car Buf Col NYI CBJ CHi ATL EDM Fla TBL Tor LAK
CrossCheck24 2 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 The Ducks seem like the Avalanch of the late 90s. Big name players, and a few assholes. Makes it a good guys (wings) vs. Bad guys (ducks) set up for the playoffs.
