Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Brad Stuart is a tough defenseman who brings some of what this team needs. The guy is a shot-blocking machine. He's not Nicklas Lidstrom, but what did you expect?
mario 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Seriously there is no way Detroit can compete with Colorado, Dallas SanJose and Anaheim Just being honest No Ppoint in even renewing playoff tickets Just look forward to next year
Barrie 900 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 (edited) I still wish we'd have gotten a forward, but we didnt give up much. Everyone knows our good draft picks dont come until the 7th round anyway. It didn't sound to me like there was to many quality forwards available anyway, unless a team was willing to sell the farm. There still will be trades to be announced after the League approves them, so there maybe something else coming. Edited February 26, 2008 by Barrie
johnnyoski 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Good move...Fills a glaring need right now. With 4 D-men out and no guarantees that any of them will come back 100% healthy this makes sense.

stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 (edited) Seriously there is no way Detroit can compete with Colorado, Dallas SanJose and Anaheim Just being honest No Point in even renewing playoff tickets Just look forward to next year are you kidding us?!?! seriously, yes, all 3 got better, but I still think we're a better team, ESPECIALLY with arguably the BEST defense in the league with Stuart added to the fold... when everyone is healthy, THIS is our defense corps: Listrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Lilja-Chelios/Lebda NAME a better D in the league, try. henrik40 76 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 I'm happy, we needed a d-man real bad. I mean yeah unlucky that our 4 top d-men are all hurt at the same time, but what if one of them happens to go down again before the playoffs?
HudlerRULES 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Come on guys.. you have to admit this is pretty disappointing. Not a big pickup to say the least and we really needed someone for the second line. I am not to happy about this. IT is almost like last year but with us making a deal for ONLY Calder
RedStormRising 7 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Guys, we need to make room on the bandwagon. Everyone who jumped off the last couple hours will be trying to get back on. Negative... I'm jumping off and hopefully falling over a cliff. Game over. The Wings did not keep pace with others and will fall from glory. Today just made my week even worse. The_Cub 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Good move for the defense. Was never expecting them to bring in a real big name Dman in. Stuart is pretty solid though.
Frozen-Man 144 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Keep trying Holland, you suck... I guess you have some secret information and think that you understand the game, the team, and what was ACTUALLY avalible to the Wings (and at what price) than Holland does. stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 how much does he make and how much is left on his deal? 3.5 this year - UFA in the offseason, possibly just a rental, but only cost us picks...

58Miles2Joe 12 Report post Posted February 26, 2008 Stuart showed some promise at SJ, however since then he's been to BOS, CGY, LA and now bounced to us...that's a lot of teams willing to part with him in a very short time. *fingers (cory) crossed*

The Wings are as good as anybody in the NHL. Now with Stuart, we are a bit better and tougher on the D.
