miller76 463 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 (edited) I know that there is already a thread concerning the win in Buffalo, but I just wanted to say I was wrong about Kronwall! I have doubted his play in the past. I know he hits, and he can score. And he always seemed fragile in the past cause of all his injuries constantly. But with the loss of Lidstrom, Cheli, and Rafalski his talent really shines through as able to control the game from the point and get the freakin puck to the forwards, as we so desperatly need. Just wanted to say that these last two games have really impressed me. Is anyone else besides themselves tonight after this good showing by him and the team? A real force on the ice and has his own unique game. He is not a little Lids, but is his own player with some grit. That fake slop shot and pass was fricking awesome. I like him, I want him to stay and if he keeps playing like this, we are going places!
Rice 42 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 He's been really good all year. These freak injuries are going to make or break his career.
Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted March 3, 2008 I just don't buy it that this particular guy is injury prone as if his DNA or bone and ligament structure is flawed. Bad breaks (no pun intended), that's all.
cirov19 1 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 Nah Kronwall has always been one of the better defensmen on this team. Although, in his return he seems to be playing slightly better than he did before he got injured. That could be just me though.

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 I was pretty down on Kronwall last year. Still having way more than his share of bad giveaways and wasn't living up to his offensive potential. He was physical but often doing it at the wrong place and wrong time. We're finally seeing the Kronwall we were supposed to have. We've had him around since 2003, but he's got fewer games played than Sidney Crosby and only a few more than Evgeni Malkin. It's probably fair to point that out. Measure his development in games, not years, and he's matured well.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 You know, you guys (and others in the GDT) who are willing to come out and say you've changed your minds really make my day. Once upon a not-so-long-time ago, being a Kronner fan was like cheering for Sammy. I am so glad Kronner is showing what he can really do, and that people are coming around to him. Thanks for saying it. What a win tonight! Group hug!................... Anyone?..............Someone?.............Teddy Bear?

Bad breaks (no pun intended), that's all. Kronwall is injury prone because of his wreckless style of play when it comes to his body. Hopefully he'll learn to be just a little smarter about who's bearing down on him and how to not leave himself open. His offense and defense have been great this year and he does look really good these past two games.

Earthhuman 8 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 He and Stuart already use each other pretty well, which is shocking, cause Kronwall doesn't tend to use his partner! This is fine, because he carries the puck quite well. Yes, he looks great, but I have noticed the pickup since Christmas. He is unbeatable right on the blueline, have you noticed? You just can't knock that puck one more inch over if he says no.
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 I just don't buy it that this particular guy is injury prone as if his DNA or bone and ligament structure is flawed. Bad breaks (no pun intended), that's all. Sorry, totally disagree. In all sports there are players who are injury-prone and players who seem to never get injured. Kronwall is one of the former. Fact. Personally I wonder how well he looks after himself off the ice - lots of references in interviews to eating McDonalds and stuff. A lot of soccer players who are injury prone tend to be big boozers. Having said that, don't get me wrong, I love Kronner. Much of his poor play over the years has been down to all those injuries and being unable to play a lot, get in his stride and develop his confidence. And of course it helps him playing top-line minutes right now as well.

revnic 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 I just don't buy it that this particular guy is injury prone as if his DNA or bone and ligament structure is flawed. Bad breaks (no pun intended), that's all. He is injury prone. And its not because of bad breaks or bad "luck". Its the way he plays the game. Theres a reason players like Nick Lidstrom don't get injured: they don't put themselves in the position for it. The way Konner plays, unfortuently, leaves him open for blows that any player would get injured by. Anyway, aside from that, hes a SWEET d man. Very impressed with him all season as well. I hope in time he develops and leaves himself less succepitble to injury favoring blows.

The Secret 304 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 Nice thread! I have thought Kronwall has been a good addition to the team from the start and he seems to get better and better. He does seem to be injury prone but he is a warrior when he is healthy. As Wings fans we get spoiled with watching great hockey most of the time. With so much great talent It may be that we take certain things for granted. Its wasnt a fun February with all the injuries and poor play, but how noticable is it to get the first of 4 pieces back?! Kronwall, has stood out for me since his return and is showing clearly what he brings to the table. Its nice to get a decent win, its nice to get Kronwall and Hasek back, and I am liking Stuart so far as well. It can only get better for here! GO WINGS! I have to disagree with you! Kronwall has great skills. And you know what he posesses, it's something I see Lidstrom do, he sets up a play so nicely and makes good decisions, he's an intelligent player. Good interview with Drake tonight talking about how Kronwall always seems to find the forward down low making the great pass in to the tightest of spots. And Babs has always talked highly of him as well, and did so, some more tonight.
