All that's left now is for Crosby to lift the Cup and skate it around Hossa a couple times, and the cherry will be on top of the sundae. We'll see if the Pens can make that happen Friday Night.

Its stuff like this that makes people on this board not take you seriously and tell you to shut up everytime you post. In case you were wondering...

Say what you will about him, this is someone outside Pittsburgh describing Hossa like this, not some poster in some Pens' forum. So I'd say he'd be a bit less "emotion" prone when looking at the situation, wouldn't you?

OMG a rental player left our team what a traitor! I think you've run this point into the ground, and it's clear that no one agrees. Can we stop with this please?

Back on-topic, Hossa looked lethargic yesterday, but so did most of the team. He's still made some great plays here and there, and he's certainly not to blame for the loss. He's not the scapegoat people are making him out to be...

I've tried to stay away from the Hossa bashing for awhile now but this is getting ridiculous. How he gets trashed so much is something I can just not understand.

Watching him out there he is NOWHERE near as bad as people on these boards make him out to be. So he's not scoring, does that automatically mean he sucks or that he's lazy? You don't have to score to be productive. And yes I know that's his job and that's why the Wings signed him, but he isn't brutal, not even close. He's a great player and although he's had a hard time this post season that doesn't take anything away from him. Give the guy a freaking break already.

I so badly want him to score 2-3 goals on Friday and shut everyone the heck up.

Exactly.

Take away Hossa and we're not even one of the top seeds in the playoffs, let alone in the finals.

He's not scoring quite as much as we'd hope, but then again none of our big stars are. He's playing excellent defense and is making some things happen out there. Is it disappointing? A little, but it's hardly BAD. Lock him up, Kenny!

i have been thinking about this, i wonder if his confidence is gone? he always passes, never shoots. he has to wake up in the morning and say im marian ******* hossa, and today im gonna get a hat trick. instead of what he does now.

I thought just the different, Hossa refuses to pass the puck in the games we are losing. When he is willing to pass to flip and not hold the puck and skate around the net, or shoot from 50 ft out, or drive straight through 4 Pens, is when he is succesful. It's like he's unwilling to let anyone else on the line touch the puck.

Say what you will about him, this is someone outside Pittsburgh describing Hossa like this, not some poster in some Pens' forum. So I'd say he'd be a bit less "emotion" prone when looking at the situation, wouldn't you?

f*** off and go to your board, you bring nothing here but the same trolling we could find from a neutral sites board.

He should, but clearly isn't. Bottom line, Hossa was a rental and owed the Penguins absolutely nothing. After Friday, Hossa owes Detroit nothing and I won't hold it against him if he decides to move on. Again, get over it.

I think his physical play has been ok in this finals series but he really hasn't contributed much offensively in this series, for someone who wants the Cup so bad he hasn't shown it much. I know that he has been well covered but he was our leading goal scorer in the Regular Season and he's fallen off a bit here in the playoffs. If the Wings are going to win Game 7 he and other players are going to need to bury the puck.

I'm quoting Sports Illustrated on this, and you're telling me to "get over it." OK...

You want to know why Hossa probably left pittsburgh? Because detroit is a better organization than pittsburgh. Our players love it here, they love the coaches, the leadership, the management, everything. That is why players come here for less money. Why is it that they say players would want to play in pittsburgh? To play with Sidney Crosby. What a badge of honor.

This was your comment below:

I have to ask now: what did you expect out of Hossa? He's playing just like what he is: a team-hopper who thought he could coast to a Cup with a superior squad. A freeloader who's happy to take a seat rather than drive the bus.

Just another one of your posts bitching about Hossa since the moment you started posting on these boards. The point is, its time to shut up about it. We get the point, you don't like Hossa. You're wrong in calling him a traitor, but you're just too blind and/or arrogant to see the truth...and that's that he owed Pittsburgh nothing.

Again, get over it.

Ouch! Seems you Wings fans aren't exactly too thrilled any more with your Mr. Hossa, just reading the last few posts.

Oh my! Poor Mr. Hossa.

Anyhoo, here's something hot off the presses at Sports Illustrated. Perhaps now you see what I'm talking about.

Benedict Arnold indeed. This guy gets it.

You found an article that supported the views you already hold and so all other views are invalid. :confused1:

Hossa played in Pitt just a few months and never signed a contract with them EVER. I don't care if someone is a Pitt fan or not, what obligated the guy to stay with Pittsburgh on any level? I get when players leave a team in free agency they grew up with and played for, but when Pittsburgh fans boo him for coming on the ice, they are the one's being petty and classless doing that to a guy who owes them nothing and never did. And he was a big part of even getting them to the finals last year, they should appreciate what he did. I don't blame them at all for being disappointed he didn't stay, but continuing to hold such a bitter grudge against someone for such paltry reasons is pathetic.

I'm wrong on how I see him? Sounds like another opinion, to me.

As for my supposedly piling on here, read again and you'll see I was in fact simply replying to about the dozen or so posts from the home-teamers who were also "bitching" about him -- asking them what else would they expect? That was all. This is the Hossa thread, right? I thought it was OK to comment here.

That said, I'll lay off then if I've become too repetitive.

OSGOD:

is there a way we can petition to have his name omitted from the cup???

he is horrible when we need him most!

Aussie_Wing:

Scratch Hossa for Game 7, oh how I'd love to see it happen. It's what he deserves. Imagine seeing the team win the Cup while he's in the stands.

I'd rather Abdelkader. I'd rather Robert LANG!

NHLrules:

If he were any more invisible he would be a black hole.

HankZetty:

He should be benched and Abbi in. He is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever seen.

As soon as he has the puck I know he's gonna f it up. Him and Samuelson both need to be gone.

Systemfel:

Agreed. He can go f*** himself.

Kluegs17:

What a *****in softie that guy is. He is everything Detroit Red Wing hockey isn't. Go back to Pittsburgh you STIFF! Guy hasn't done a damn thing all playoffs

Just a few remarks by some of the Wings most loyal and intelligent fans. I wonder if there is an active brain cell in the whole lot of them. You ******* idiots......Hossa has 15 points in 22 games, (which happens to be 11th of all players in the playoffs) and has played excellent defense more often than not. I'm not saying he's been stellar, and he certainly could have scored more goals, but, if any of you say he's the major reason the Wings haven't wrapped up this series yet, you are even more mentally bankrupt than the obvious would suggest.

While I don't deny that he's contributed some very timely assists and created some energy with his hitting...THAT'S NOT WHAT WE SIGNED THIS CLOWN FOR. He's making Lidstrom's salary...we pay him $7.45M to SCORE BIG GOALS...something he's done in only 3 games in this playoff run...damnit, he's a goal scorer...I WANT GOALS OUT OF HIM. :furious:

15 points in 22 games isn't that good for a guy with his talent level.

He's scored goals in 3 of the 22 games we've had this year in the playoffs. Stop making excuses for him already.

I don't know what the major reason for the Wings troubles is in this series, but his play is certainly a contender for that category. This was supposed to be the series where he'd play like a man possessed to stick it to the Pens and their fans.

As do I........just as I'd like to see more production from Hudler and Holmstrom.........but I, unlike a s***load of idiots who have formed the Hossa lynch mob, refuse to place all this blame solely on him. I've yet to see anyone point out an aspect of his play that has directly led to a score that cost the Wings even 1 game. If Holland chooses not to re sign him after the finals are over, I'll back him on that decision. Should the unthinkable happen and the Wings lose game 7 of Friday nite, this forum will canabalize everyone from Babs to Holland to a whole litany of players to an extent never exceeded here.

I agree with that too..........but 15 in 22 is hardly "useless" and "just along for the ride", a couple more "Hossaisms" that I've read on this forum in the past couple of days. You agree?

I think what make people frustrated and disappointed at Hossa is not his scoring sheet. He stayed in the Pens last summer and did not win the Cup. He thought the Wings are the best team to win the Cup so he came here with the less money the Pens suggested. I am not whining but I do not think he is playing excellent defense. His backchecking does not look efficient, and when he is on the ice, I do not feel comfortable.

In addition, I think Hossa is trying too much by himself. He does not use his line mates perfectly. The result is Franzen and Filppula could not do that much in game 6 while Hossa looked to play as a team in game 5. I was emotional yesterday so I settled down my mind but Hossa has to make magnificient plays on Friday because he came here to win the Cup but he does not look enough good to win the cup regardless of his condition or injury status

Actually your forgetting the 71 points and +27 rating too

I think he's hurting myself... I think he has a pain SOMEwhere in his body that ist letting him play to HIS potential

TO think we should not re-sign him if we had the chance is crap.. He is a TOP 10 player period..

you take him if you can get him

Pavs has not been Mr. Clutch either this year in the playoffs...Before the injury.... after he has a couple assists..

That doesnt mean we should get rid of him.....geez people. Hossa haters better eat crow if he scores the Game winner Friday
