You earn your spots, kid, and you haven't earned s*** in this league. I hope this move shakes Leino up and he learns to bust his ass, play the parts of the game that aren't as fun and might just result in a briuse now and then, and becomes a valuable player in this league. The poster you're responding to doesn't have beef with Europeans who don't look scared to block a shot or dig a puck out of a corner - he calls out "people who are gonna play like little girls from europe". Of course, he says he'd prefer North americans - but in this context I don't read it as him saying that NA players are superior people, only that they tend to bring more sandpaper. NHL wouldn't be the best league in the world without players outside NA. Yeah whats your point? Whats the point of drafting players who are gonna stay in Europe their whole careers and only come across if they have a spot guaranteed? I would rather draft players who play a dump and chase style from North America then drafts ome pretty boy European who won't ever come over here. If the dump and chase guy will play AHL and earn his duty I would much rather have him. He'll at least eventually play in the NHL. And I mean Ryno, Axelson and Leino all acted like they deserved to be on the team without any time in GR. Leino said he would go to Finland if he got sent down. Thats what I mean. Even if two or three European players do something, doesn't mean every European acts like that. There are more options than "dump and chase American" or "never-gonna-come-to-NHL European". NHL wouldn't be much without the European players. As a Red Wings fan you certainly should understand the meaning of foreign players. That's all I'm saying. Also, all we wanted was a 5th rounder. TKO was a salary dump fo Philly, and he'll be a plugger in GR for us. I suspect the Wings would have made this trade without Tollefson. Leino has had ample opportunity to show us what he can do with all his potential, and he sucked. How many more games should the Wings play players who refuse to play hard and think that they're too good for the AHL? Tollefson will be a nice fit in GR. I'm happy about the pick. Also, Tollefson was never a "some random fighter", he was a relatively s***ty player who happend to play a complete s***ty game, which happened to include the occasional s***ty fight. Nah I tihnk youre getting offended by something I didn't mean to be offensive. I just don't like this growing trend of prospects and promisong players(Hudler) booting back tp Europe all of a sudden with the KHL. I also understand that Europe provides some of the most skilled players in the game but I was responding to a post that said all North Americans played dump and chase hockey when I started to say some offensive things I guess. I think people are forgetting that THIS WHOLE TRADE WAS TO DUMP SALARY for Franzen's return on Tuesday. How can you say this was a bad trade?!
