achildr1 255 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 Ok, when are people going to understand that leaving the ice 2 inches with your skates doesn't mean he's leaving his feet to hit a guy. The nature of body checks seems prove that its going to happen more often then not. I seen no maliciousness there. 4 roboturner, Matt, JoshuaW92 and 1 other reacted to this

roboturner 562 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 (edited) He did leave his feet, though that part didn't really look intentional. Other than that I don't have too much of a problem with this hit. Matt 1,048 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 Clean hit. Nothing there that is any different than the collection of ones we see from Kronwall. He doesn't leave his feet (jump) to lay the hit, but powers up into it when contact is made. 2 Jasper84 and Byorski reacted to this
roboturner 562 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 feet were clearly planted at contact Thanks for the pic. I thought that it might have been a "Kronwall" situation where his feet leave the ice after contact, but I wasn't sure. It's hard to tell sometimes watching these videos on youtube. 2 VikingMark and haroldsnepsts reacted to this
JasonNewEra 84 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 It may be clean to us, but he will get suspended simply cause the NHL is terrible at calls like this. 1 Heroes of Hockeytown reacted to this
FifeHockeyNut 57 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 Would you say the head is the principle point of contact? That's the phrase Shanny seems to love, it looks to me as if that's the case. Don't get me wrong I thought it was a great hit but.I wouldn't be surprised if he got a suspension.

Holmstrom96 347 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 (edited) The fight took place directly above the injured player. This drives me nuts. Also, the title of your thread is very incorrect and should be changed. Edited December 4, 2011 by Holmstrom96 2 Lonewuhf and jvxp reacted to this

Don't get me wrong I thought it was a great hit but.I wouldn't be surprised if he got a suspension. That's why I feel a suspension is looming. It looks like the brunt of the contact was absorbed through the head, and Shanahan has really cracked down on that, which I can respect. At the same time, Nieddereiter needs to take at least some responsibility for getting caught with his head down. It may have been a hit to the head, but it was anything but blindside. He doesn't leave his feet (jump) to lay the hit, but powers up into it when contact is made. Agreed. It is very much like a Kronwall hit. Honestly though I think the exploding up into hits has been a bad development in hitting style over the years, and something the league may try to curb. Because when you're exploding up into a hit, you're putting your force up towards a guys head, even if your skates are on the ice at the point of contact. It's possible to crush guys without that leaping up. Stevens was the master at it. 1 dragonballgtz reacted to this

Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted December 5, 2011 What a hit. Fistric is one of my favorites. He's a wicked hard hitter, but he's an honest guy. He won't take your knees out or any of that Bryan Marchment type s***.
LeftWinger 4,972 Report post Posted December 5, 2011 Damn it! Why couldn't he have saved that hit for a certain poster boy!?!?! Nice CLEAN hit though, not a thing wrong with it!
