Gorges isn't the puck moving defenseman we need though.

Well - he's a solid Dman - more defensive minded, and would probablty be our best guy in our own end.

Has 4 years left under contract.

Would be similar to Brad Stuart as to what he'd bring to the Wings...Oh well.

Interesting that all of the other defensemen are going before Niskanen. I figured, he'd go first and then the others would fall. Seeing the others sign somewhere else, could hurt his value. Yes, there's less d-men to go after, however, there's less teams in the running for Niskanen as other d-men sign elsewhere. I think teams are looking at his asking price and saying "yeah right" and moving on. This could cause his price to drop.

Unless of course he is whittling down his list slowly, letting those teams that know they're out of it, and those other teams are then going elsewhere.

Stars agree with back-up goalie Anders Lindback to one-year deal.

You know what?

f*** Dan Boyle anyway.

And f*** the Rangers. Why would Boyle want to go there? What’s so special about them? They were over-rated last year, benefiting from an inspired Habs victory over Boston. They are going to be worse this year without Poulliot, Brian Boyle, Stralman, Brassard, etc.

I LoL'ed

Dekeseyer isnt a franchise d man either. Especially if he spends his career playing with Quincey and Smith. Our defense is garbage thrown together with no thought. That should have been square one when Lidstrom left but were staring at the same burning garbage 4 years later

I agree. I just had family in from New York and they even said that the Rangers surprised the hell out of everyone going to the finals. They won't be much next year. i wasn't crazy about Boyle coming here anyway.

I agree, LGW would be in melt down mode for $4M for Hemsky for the next 3 years.

Because he'd be redundant on our team. He plays the same game as Nyquist, who we already have. But he's a good signing for Dallas.
