kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 When Datsyuk gets back I'd like to see him, z, and sheahan at center with Larkin, Tatar, and Nyquist as the skill guys on the wing, and Abby, Player X, and Helm as the muckrs on the other wings.
Internet.Unknown 422 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 People dont like stats around here. Miller is gonna be a minus 100 for his career at this rate, but people are infatuated with him. Makes me laugh that we play him over Jurco and Mantha. How many times are you going to ignore the fact that Jurco and Mantha don't and should not play the same role as Miller? It's not that Miller is a HoFer; it's that he plays his role well, which is a shot blocker and defensive forward. Expecting Youtube Jurco or Mantha to play his role and develop is silly. Its pointless, you say "AA & Mantha should not be on the 4th line, MIller is a better fit there in 2015" he hears "Miller is better then Mantha and AA, I am in love with him as a player". He's either trolling, or just doesn't get it. Lombardi laughs and hangs up the phone Wings would be happy to get a decent return if even that all for Pulkinnen Would you really want to get rid of Nyquist for a rental? If the trade guaranteed that Kopitar would resign that would be one thing, but it doesn't. 3 PavelValerievichDatsyuk, Internet.Unknown and DatsyukianDekes reacted to this
kickazz 5,459 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 AA skated on third line during practice. Thank god. I prefer that over 4th line crap Jurco went thru 1 NerveDamage reacted to this
wings7 62 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 Yes I'd give up Pulk, Nyq and Smith for Kopitar in a second. Maybe Kopitar is a rental maybe he's not but this season, we are way better immediately. And obviously we work real hard to sign him while he is here. Let's wait to see how it fits all season though. I think it'd work beautifully though. Tatar - Datsyuk - Kopitar Larkin - Zetterberg - Abdelkader Sheehan - AA - Helm Miller - Glendening - Feraro/Anderson 1 NerveDamage reacted to this
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 Kopitar is a centre. No Gm gives up all that for a rental either. Hypothetical trades bug me because nobody really has any clue what it would take and who is interested unless we get a solid rumour or statement 1 krsmith17 reacted to this

I definitely think the Wings should unleash some of their softer young players with upside. We have a lot of players who play the same game. Tatar. Nyquist. Pulkkinen. DatsyukianDekes 2,428 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 Whats the point of taking a chance on Kopitar, we won't re-sign him. We have way more issues then another center, how about using that package to aim towards an actual need, like a #1 D. 6 NerveDamage, PavelValerievichDatsyuk, Jacksoni and 3 others reacted to this
joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 I think with guys like Marchenko and Ouellette coming through we don't need a super expensive #1 if we can beef up the forward group. Maybe if we could scoop up a guy like Wideman or another cheaper option. Z is carrying this team offensively and in the next few years we can't keep leaning on him like we are. 1 NerveDamage reacted to this
wings7 62 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 Listen, I agree. The Wings need a Top 4 forward and Top 2 defenseman. Everything else is in place.

LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) We all know how conversations evolve, but let us remember that this is a thread about AA. Does anyone know if he is playing tonight? I am on my work computer and it blocks all pics, so I cannot see the GDT pic... I was really impressed with him last game, even though he was mostly on the 4th line. He had a few shifts where he had some nice shots on goal and he showed just how much he can be a part of this team. I am excited for him to be a part of Detroit full time. DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 To win in the NHL you need 2 elite forwards and an elite defenseman. Wings have Larkin as a potential elite center, and then who? A couple maybes at forward and nothing on D. They need to make a trade or two, or get lucky in the draft. I'd absolutely give up Smith Nyquist and Pulk for Kopitar but there's no way that gets it done. The Kings are going to want one good young NHL player and at least one high level prospect, not a 3rd pair D and a one dimensional shooter. Nyquist or Tatar and one of Larkin, AA, Mantha, or Svechnikov

Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 from what ive heard although the Griffins have gotten off to a bad start, Mantha has been playing well. I still hold out seeing a Mantha Larkin Svechnikov line in the not too distant future.

kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 Rumor mill says the Islanders and Kyle Okposo aren't even close to an extension. That's the kind of guy I'd look to acquire. You'd have to give someone legit to get him, but he's big, strong, tough, and provides quality offense. Don't know what the Isles need, considering they're good, but I'd certainly be finding out if I was Kenny. 1 kickazz reacted to this

I think that's a horrifically terrible trade idea. He's just a RENTAL and you're giving up our top scorer, a high prospect that will play on this team and could be a big part of the future, and Pulks who could be a 20 goals scorer. 1 krsmith17 reacted to this
