Which is fine. Veleno was drafted 30th overall and is projected to be a 2nd line center. Lafrenier will be drafted 1st overall (no one else will be close), and will be an ELITE (elite of the elite) top line winger.

I hear you.  I just am not excited about a 19 year old ripping up the Q.  A 16 year old yes.

Such a dumb Jonas comment... Why get excited over any prospect unless they're a generational talent, drafted 1st overall... Zadina sucks. Veleno sucks. McIsaac sucks. Crosby is good. MacKinnon is good. Lafrenier is good.

Veleno is 3 years ahead of Lafreniere.

Do you mean in amount of seasons played in the Q? Because if you're holding the fact that Veleno obtained exceptional status against him, well that just seems stupid.

If you mean age, they're not even a full two years apart.

Honestly if you're not excited about him after he's taken a step forward and learned to dominate his respective competition, you should probably just concede that there's actually nothing he can do to please you.

You guys can gush if you want.  I'm going to reserve judgement until I see him play against men.  I want to get on board the hype train.  I really do.  But I'm not going to.

Crisis averted, the Griffins clinch!  Now they just need to get their **** together for the playoffs.

Edit:  Veleno and McIssac are going head to head in the QMJHL conference finals.

Italy vs. Scotland, classic matchup

Loser gets to become a pro hockey player and win a calder cup

(plz don't hurt each other)

After dominating the regular season, Veleno has really cooled off in the playoffs, which is a little concerning. He only has 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists) in 13 games, and all 12 came in the first two rounds. He's been completely shut down in the three games in the Conference Finals against Halifax. McIsaac has cooled a bit as well with just 8 points (2 goals, 3 assists) in 13 games. I get that everything ramps up during the playoffs, but still would have liked to see a little more out of both...
