redw1ngs 149 Report post Posted December 5, 2021 I dont mind that Rasmusen doesnt score if hes playing well defensively what I cant stand about big ras is that a breath of wind knocks him off the puck. Hes way to passive/weak for such a large man. He spends more time on his knees than a $3 *****. 1 Jonas Mahonas reacted to this

Time to unload then. At 23 and in a player's first year of developing a new role, no. Im sure Ras didnt have 4th line shut down center + pk/face off expert in mind when he was dreaming of his NHL future. Thats what Yzerman and Blash want out of him, and that's what he's trying to do. The guy is 6'6" and has a huge reach. I could see him being great in our 4C role if he gets a bit stronger and a half step faster over the next 2 seasons. You can see he's just not quite fast enough and not quite physical enough right now. He needs gym work. 26 minutes ago, redw1ngs said: I dont mind that Rasmusen doesnt score if hes playing well defensively what I cant stand about big ras is that a breath of wind knocks him off the puck. His reach with his long arms and long stick is incredible. But he needs to be the one pushing others around. He's getting outworked right now because he's not strong enough in upper or lower body. Wings have had a strength coach issue for a long time now. Dont know why they cant fix that. 1 Rick D reacted to this
bIueadams 776 Report post Posted December 14, 2021 (edited) So with the Fabbri signing the left side forward is pretty much #lockedup for next year Bertuzzi - Larkin - Raymond Vrana - Suter - Zadina Fabbri - Veleno - ???? Erne - Rasmussen - Stephens Edvinsson - Seider Oesterle - Hronek ??????? - Lindstrom Nedeljkovic ???????? Needs: 2nd line RW, 2nd pairing LHD, 2nd string G All other depth needs can be filled from within. We need someone who can force young Zadina down to the 3rd line, and Oesterle down to the 3rd pairing. I'm saying Zadorov, Bryan Rust, and Joren van Pottleberghe... then shop some AHL guys and call it an offseason. Bertuzzi - Larkin - Raymond <---------- keep our supreme top line churning Vrana - Suter - Rust <-------------------- Suter is weak, but Rust & Vrana may elevate him, Veleno/Ras stepping up here would be crazy good Fabbri - Veleno - Zadina <--------------- Now that could be a good 3rd scoring line Erne - Rasmussen - Stephens <-------- A checking line that isn't just AHL scrubs Edvinsson - Seider <---------------------- f*** with us Zadorov - Hronek <------------------------ Perfectly balanced between giant violent shutdown D and smol puck mover, bring Fils gritty side backout Oesterle - Lindstrom <-------------------- Two very solid two-way Dmen Nedeljkovic <------------------------------- Mini Hasek is mini Hasek van Pottleberghe <------------------------ Probably the biggest ? on the team. bIueadams 776 Report post Posted December 16, 2021 (edited) Matt Savoie is an interesting one. He's ranked as high as #2 and as low as #7. Plays center and shoots right. Yzerman has never shied away from small forwards before. If he drops into our range I could see him being our choice. His older brother Carter Savoie was drafted by the Oilers and is playing at the U of Denver with Buium, Mazur, and Tuomisto. He's the leading scorer there and I believe just made the Canada WJC roster. Maybe we can send Leddy to Edmonton in exchange for Carter?
