Marco Kasper is an absolute bully and I love it. Also, Lombardi is going to be a player. He just needs to get stronger. He’s really slick and really tenacious.

Someone posted yesterday that ALL of our prospects should look to Raymond's improved play and ask for his workout routine.   They need to add strength!

Mazur, Lombardi, and ASP all need to gain strength. Most of the other top end prospects already have bigger frames than Lucas did.

Mazur, Lombardi, and ASP all need to gain strength. Most of the other top end prospects already have bigger frames than Lucas did. 

Raymond's biggest strength this year was his durability.  He got put on his ass non stop and came back every single time.  That's the weight lifting.  Gave him the ability to play hard at speed and take punishment.

I'd prefer we keep all our winners OFF the Detroit Red Wings.  Much better if we play a bunch of LOSERS from other teams instead of our WINNERS that we're drafting.

Remembering last training camp and seeing how hes looking after being traded, I think hes got a spot to lose on this team rather than to win next training camp

Edvinsson is on the team. Berggren and Johansson are no longer waiver exempt. Kasper, Danielson, and Mazur are all very close. This team is going to look very different in the next year.

which is what I expect based on the hand SY was dealt. It took him 3 years to rid the team of Holland's players. Another couple of years of improvement with prospects and 2nd tier free agents. then fill the roster with his draft picks and more desirable free agents.

Danielson with a sick short handed goal just now

Watched the Winterhawks vs. Moose Jaw game last night and man is Danielson good. For my money he was the best player on the ice last night. All situations play, size, skill, speed. Reminded me a lot of Mika Zibanejad. He was clearly the best Winterhawk and probably the best player overall. If anything, I walked away from that thinking that he's still easily going to put another 20 lbs of muscle on. He's skinny, and while fast, he's a little gangly because he's so tall and thin. I think we got a good one here.

Also, if anyone is watching the Florida vs. Boston series right now thinking "man we need a guy like Sam Bennett", pay attention to how Marco Kasper plays tonight. There are A LOT of similarities in their games. After seeing how some of our more important prospects have developed this season I'm pumped for the future of this team.

Despite Nate Danielson's best efforts the Winterhawks fell to Moose Jaw last night in the WHL finals. Nate was excellent but Moose Jaw is absolutely stacked with first round talent and they overwhelmed Portland. Danielson finished the playoffs with 24 points in 18 games, won a series for the Winterhawks more or less by himself, and was only outproduced by four top end talents who are all on the same team. I really really liked his game in the playoffs.

I'd imagine the next stop is Grand Rapids and it will be interesting to see if he gets a spot in the lineup or if he's a black ace throughout their run.

Danielson should be playing. Hes instantly an upgrade over most of the vets on the team as well as a couple of the young guys. They probly wouldnt take out a vet so Id take out Lombardi.

Edit: just noticed they played 11f/7d last night so Danielson could also get in over a d. Didier way hs a couple games in the first round maybe thats a option again.

It's a tough decisions because you don't want to mess with a winning lineup, nor do you want to hinder the development of Lombardi to accommodate Danielson. Danielson is a better player, I totally agree with you. But maybe that means he doesn't need these games a much as Lombardi does. I think if anyone comes out it's got to be one of the 3rd or 4th line vets. I'm not sure who's the other wing with Lombardi and Sodorlbom on the 3rd line, but that might be a prime candidate.

Didier is definitely the weakest link on the team from what I can see.  He's the Jeff Petry of the Griffins.  But he's also the captain for some reason.  So who knows.  If I was coach, I'd yank Didier and Soderblom, and replace them with ASP and Danielson.

Because he's staying over in Sweden until at least the prospect tournament in June or July.

He won't be coming over until their season ends in 2025 since he's staying in the SHL for another year.
