#2524982 Brad Richards bought out by Rangers

Posted by Euro_Twins on 20 June 2014 - 11:58 PM

Brad Richards age 34 - Contract remaining - 6 years with a cap hit of 6.67 Million a season
Johan Franzen age 34 - Contract remaining - 6 years with a cap hit of 3.95 million a season

New York Rangers Goal differential +25
Brad Richards plus minus -8
Detroit Red Wings goal differential -8
Johan Franzen plus minus +6

Hits
Brad Richards 24
Johan Franzen 66

Giveaways
Brad Richards 46
Johan Franzen 28

Faceoffs
Brad Richards 49.8%
Johan Franzen 52.9%

Richards slightly outscored Franzen this year but was far worse defensively and he costs almost double what Franzen does. That's why one is employed and the other was paid to go away.

If franzenstein played 82 games like Richards he would have (pro rated) 11 points more and 4 goals more.

#2524574 Detroit re-signs Gustavsson 1 yr $1.85 mill

The hype for Mrazek is funny the guy hasn't done anything worthwhile at the NHL level and yet people are already making him the next starter. Reminds a lot on a certain guy named Jacob Markström.

In 11 games in the nhl, he has a 1.8 gaa and a .926 sv%

And obviously he has been great in the ahl also

I don't know why people are complaining. This is a good thing. The more Gus is injured the more experience mrazek gets before he becomes the full time backup next season

#2524150 Dan Cleary may return...sigh

Posted by Euro_Twins on 17 June 2014 - 08:38 AM

Whoa Whoa Whoa, don't everybody go blaming Holland here.  Babs was the one who wanted him back.  Babs was the reason he left money on the table in Philly.  And Babs was the reason he got a commitment beyond last year from the Wings.  If Holland had his say Dan Cleary would be entering the second year of his three year contract with the Flyers right now.

Yes, Holland is just as guilty too.

#2524148 Compliance buyout expected to be used on Tootoo

We got franzens contract.

And kindls(or was it after the new cba he signed his extension can't remember).

Either way using it on a guy with 1 year led is a waste but O well.

Franzen is putting up just as many points as he was when he was signed to that contract. Kindl has a very tradeable contract. Gomez was a terrible comparison.

#2524075 Shawn Thornton will not be returning to the Bruins

Posted by Euro_Twins on 16 June 2014 - 07:33 PM

Nah, Holland is too busy signing undrafted "projects." He'll have no interest in an NHL player.  Not that I think Thornton would be the answer to what we need...

So you're being cynical just to be cynical? You don't want him to be signed yet you complain that he won't be signed?

P
Holland may not make a lot of trades, but getting free agents is something he does do.

All that's saying I'd that alfies bonuses were deferred to next seasons cap, which we already knew was going to happen. We're not being punished like you said. We still have money to spend this off season and it doesn't put us into "cap trouble"

#2523875 Wings sign Tomas Nosek to 2 year entry level deal

Posted by Euro_Twins on 14 June 2014 - 04:58 PM

Holland: Hello? Mr. I? Ya, I did what you said and signed Tomas Nosek...ya...Nosek...Tomas. That guy you told me to sign. Yes, him...what? Tomas Nosek. Excuse me? Who? Vanek? Shoot! Darn! Darn! Darn! Sorry Sir...

Mr. I: You f***ing idiot...(click)

I'd probably rather have nosek and his minuscule contract, instead of ghost vanek and his large cap

Nosek will probably be soft, so I assume his nickname will be nosack

Did you even watch the Canadians? Hell even NBC guys commented in it a couple times. He was always a threat and putting pressure on the opposing team.

I hear announcers say the same about mule. What's your point?

They also wouldn't have made it this far without Quick stealing them some games.

Shaky almost every game this postseason?  How many games did you watch Quick play this postseason?

Nevermind.  Are views are so far apart on this there's really no point in us discussing it.

Quite a few actually. The announcers give him so much praise based off past success even after he lets in 4-5 goals, which he has done quite a bit. Yes he has stolen some games, but he is nowhere near the level he is capable of.

You're saying that after last night's game?

Quick has played at an elite level multiple times this postseason.

Yes I am saying that, he has looked shaky in almost every post season game, and if it wasn't for his team scoring ridiculous amounts of goals, the kings wouldn't have made it this far. Like I said quick has had a few very good games, but his overall performance this post season and most of the regular season has him looking Crawford. I'm not saying he isn't elite I'm saying he hasn't been playing at an elite level. On the subject of lundqvist, he hasn't been all too great either, but I think he's been better then quick

Ah ok if it was sarcastic nevermind :-)

Man this team, elite defense, elie goaltending, elite two way center, big physical top 6..great coach just so much talent :(

Quicks been good in a few games but he wasn't elite during the season or post season this year

#2523144 The Franzen Hate.

You are telling me that Johan looks at how much he makes and decides on how many goals, assists, and afford he will bring?

That is exactly what I said, word for word. You didn't put words in my mouth at all.

All I did was point out that there are worse contracts out there, and that franzens contract gets way more flack than it should. Everyone wishes he would be more consistent, but the fact remains he isn't but he is still a very good two way forward and his defensive *** is extremely underrated around here. Take what you will from my post, I provided facts, you made up what I was thinking. I have you the info, you do with it what you like.
