Was it me or did miller look slower than hell on that last goal?
And that pass hit his stick.

Does it really matter?

#2479205 The Hudler Factor

Posted by Euro_Twins on 31 January 2014 - 02:03 PM

I remember Hudler always leading off in shootouts, missing, but giving Pavs an opportunity to see what the goalie was doing before he shot.  As others have already said, Tats is a better, more tenacious version of Huds.  Call him Hungry Huds compared to Happy Huds maybe?

How bout tenacious T?

#2479008 Hypothetical: What Coach Would You Replace Babcock With?

Posted by Euro_Twins on 30 January 2014 - 04:40 PM

omg, mini heart attack... don't do that to me. I can not even imagine anyone else leading the wings right now. Players despised but respected bowman too, Babs is a great coach, despite what many around here believe

#2476521 Stamkos vs Tavares

Posted by Euro_Twins on 24 January 2014 - 12:24 PM

Pretty small sample size to start projecting whether he's be competing for points race, but based on history and start to the season, pretty reasonable to think he'd be right there in goals.

However, Tavares currently is competing with Sid for points.  Granted, he's been really hot lately and needed 8pts in 2 nights to creep up there and he's still trailing by a signficant amount, so he might cool off and fade away, not sure.  Tavares has always been a great player, but right around a point per game.  The question is: is he just on a really hot streak now and wil even out a bit down the stretch, or is he having his break out year?  The latter might be more likely, since he is only 23 (same for Stamkos actually)

Considering stammer has 3 90+ points seasons already and 57 points in 48 games last year it'd be very reasonable to assume his projected points would be pretty accurate and he would have been at or above 100 this year

I don't want to trade for a rental unless they talk to him first and are pretty certain that he's going to sign an extension here.

Not even if their asking price was Quincey kindl Sammy Cleary bertuzzi and a bag of chips?

#2476341 Stamkos vs Tavares

Stamkos for sure. Btw how do you figure he is injury prone? This is the first time he's had an injury. He hasn't missed a game since he only played 79 games his rookie year, and if you call sliding into a post and your leg breaking injury prone, then you have a very broad definition of that term. Stamkos is the better player, and I believe st. Louis has been as effective as he has because of Stamkos

#2475335 Would you trade Jimmy for a top pairing dman?

Posted by Euro_Twins on 22 January 2014 - 11:13 AM

Our leading goal scorers totals since 2008:

2013 (shortened season): Datsyuk, 15
2011-12: Franzen 29
2010-11: Franzen 28
2009-10: Datsyuk 27
2008-09: Hossa 40

08-09 there were also 3 other guys with more than 30 goals. I don't think you can have an elite team when your leading goal scorer for the season can't even crack 30. We need someone who can score at least 40, and I think it would help others around them.

2012 kings, kopitar 25 goals
2011 Bruins, lucic 30 goals
2010 Blackhawks, Kane 30 goals
2009 penguins, Malkin 35 goals
2008 wings, Zetterberg 43 goals

I didn't count the lockout season for obvious reasons. But since we won the cup not one team has won with a 40 goal scorer, and most had a 30 or less goal scorer. So your argument although a good point, is not necessarily true.

#2475294 Would you trade Jimmy for a top pairing dman?

Posted by Euro_Twins on 22 January 2014 - 06:59 AM

I'm not gonna blame for our losses but he hasn't won anything yet .... Mrazek was a stud in the junior championships a stud for the griffins .... He's got a cool demeanour a great confidence in himself and has swag I could be proven wrong and I'd admit it I was wrong but for me theres no doubt in my mind this kid is a future star goalie ... He just needs more starts

A lot more ahl time than mrazek .... And he's already way ahead than where jimmy was when he was 21

Right cause it isn't like Howard stopped 44 of 45 shots recently or anything but we couldn't score, news flash you can't win scoring 1 goal or less. Jimmy has been great lately, and the team hasn't played well.

Ahh the ever exciting battle of one of the worst PK's vs. One of the worst PP's. Should be a real nail biter eh?

There pk is something like 76% and our pp is 16 or 17% off the top of my head, therefore mathematically we suck
