Casey 145 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Next time, Hossa, buckle the fight strap first, then kick his ass.
Chelios57 31 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 (edited) Each swing you can see Hossa saying "I - love - being - a ------ RED WING!". I gotta predict he's staying, this guy really loves playing for this team, and you could see it way before he ever dropped the gloves. Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 You seriously thought that was a good showing by Hossa? Considering that he's Marian Hossa? Yeah, I'll take it. He didn't hit a damn thing, but at least he was swingin'. Compound that with a 6-2 thrashing, and the Ghost of ESAD should be stayed for another night. esteef 2,679 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 You seriously thought that was a good showing by Hossa? If by good showing you mean a top dollar 1st liner not backing down against a guy who can actually fight then absolutely. Kopecky should be so bold. Sign him Kenny! esteef

Yak19 303 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Doesnt matter what happened (although Hoss held his own), when he dropped the gloves thats saying something about him and his dedication to the DRW. Atta boy Hossa!
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Good for Hossa standing up for himself, but god this team is f***ing pathetic right now in the fighting department. It's been a while since the JLA has seen some real entertainment when it comes to that part of the game.
Bluedevils_13 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Wow that second hit on Hudler was bad. Was he penalized for that? League cutting down on hits to the head my ass. Honsetly, as of late its seems liek the are applauding it.
ComradeWasabi 109 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 It's been a while since the JLA has seen some real entertainment when it comes to that part of the game. I was lucky enough to have front row seats to McCarty vs. Clarkson Nov 8 against New Jersey. One of the only bouts this season, it was looooong too.
luvmnger 125 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 from my counting....hossa landed 1 right and 2 left punches suter got nothin' that means hossa won. 3-0 by the way...hossa had a little jersey issue that grounded his real pummeling he was going to unleash. if you question his fighting go youtube his fight with tverdovsky while wearing a thrashers uni. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Hopefully Lilja will give Hossa some pointers for his next fight. Those punches were a tad bit stronger than Semin's. Now that punch that Lilja hit Souray with.... That's the kind of power that every man can only dream of having in his fists.

SDavis35 140 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 What about the cheer for Hossa when it was announced he got the misconduct? JLA was loud at that point
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Hossa = The Lord http://forums.anaheimducks.com/ Exactly. The Ducks are a wonderful example of how you can't win the Cup with fighters on............oh wait, nevermind. Seriously, though, we don't have to fight as often as the Ducks, but anything is better than finishing in the single digits again in the fighting department. This is just too pathetic for any hockey team not playing in some European league.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Hossa must stay now, I will be heart broken if he leaves. (And I was dead against signing this guy last year, WOW) GMR dont worry, Neil is coming, he and Lilja will instruct Hossa the techniques and in no time we'll have a budding, legit power forward on our hands. Sounds good to me. Although I have Neil down as one of Lilja's victims already. It'd be good to see Franzen become that legit power forward, but tonight he showed his willingness (or lack thereof) to drop the gloves.

To even suggest that there's something wrong with this team because they aren't Tyson on skates is almost ludicrous to me. There's a difference to me between being more physical and flat-out fighting all the damn time. This attitude people here have about how the Red Wings suddenly need to turn into the Broad Street Bullies circa 1976 is puzzling at best and mind-numbing at worst. Shouldn't the overall objective be that we win games? As long as we're winning games, I don't give rat's patoot how we do it. Well, as long as we're winning fair and square. No hanky-panky needed. sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 Great video, great game, and great feel to tonight's game. I am loving Hossa on this team, and am starting to get to the point where I hope Kenny does anything and everything to make sure he remains here.

No one is saying that so get that through your head. I think the majority of us would be completely satisfied with anything that even remotely resembles the toughness of a professional North American hockey team. We are by far the least interested team when it comes to fighting that any pro team in North America has ever iced... NHL, AHL, ECHL... Literally.

ltgator333 3 Report post Posted February 19, 2009 I really think Hossa didn't do too bad at all, and really allthough I don't really want Hossa getting into a bunch of scraps, I think that took some real guts to fight the guy. I wish that fighting in the NHL was more like that.. instead of a very narrow slice of the total players in the NHL doing 80% of all the fighting.
