    I'm Boycotting the Winter Classic...

I'm not watching a day filled of NBC creaming itself over Sidney (yet again). There were plenty of other teams and locations that haven't had the chance, that are more deserving. Edit: This is not a Crosby topic. This is about how unfair it is for pits to be repeatedly thrown in the spotlight.

yep I'm with you on this one. There could have been about 12 teams that could have been in this thing that is now ruined because all they care about is pushing things down loyal hockey fan's throats. Its so f***in disney its sickening.

Their two biggest draws, eh? Would you like to know the two biggest fanbases in the league? 1. The Maple Leafs 2. The Red Wings

    Wings offer Aaron Downey Tryout?

He is getting old and didnt even play last year, but I guess if he performs well and earns a spot there is nothing wrong with that.

This is like the pot calling the kettle black.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG0UAS3CMg8 It is pretty funny and a little ironic thought that in the process of calling out Ovi and calling him a ******, he makes himself look like a even bigger ****** than he already is....

    NHL Rejects Kovalchuk's Contract

I agree to an extent with you. I have no problem with a 40 year old signing a 2 year deal. I think saying someone like Mark Recchi can only sign a year at time isn't right. But I get what you're saying. I am with you that these longer term deals should stop at age 40. So if you are 31 you can go ahead and sign a long term deal but it can't be longer than 9 years. Most players start to decline a lot after the age of 37 or 38. As for front loading I'm not against it. Zetterberg gets most of his money by 38 and I think that's ok but I wouldn't be surprised if the NHL changes that in the next cba. Pierre LeBrun mentioned that one GM said they were throwing around the idea of taking the highest paying 5 years of the long term deals and the average of those 5 years is what would be the cap #. That way you can front load all you want but aren't circumventing the cap.

    NHL Rejects Kovalchuk's Contract

not being biased, but the only 2 deals that should have been approved are Zetterberg and Franzen. simply because their contracts end at the "generic" retirement age of 40. Luongo goes to 42 or 43 and Hossa goes to 42, which is ridiculous. the CBA should state that players can only sign multi year contracts to take them to the age of 40. anything after the age of 40 is 1 year deals until retirement. the NHL should do away with front loading contracts. every year the player is under contract should be the same amount. if a player signs for 5 years 25 mil, it should be 5 mil/year. none of this 8mil, 8mil, 3mil, 3mil, 3mil contract bulls***. any contract like that should be circumvention of the salary cap. all of the ridiculous loopholes and cap rules and what not are digging the business side of the NHL into a very large hole.

Verizon Center isn't exactly old, it's only 12 years into it's existence. People complaining about how old the Joe is and how no wonder there are violations should consider that that doesn't necessarily mean anything when it comes to age of the complex. I'm pretty surprised that 100% of vendors at Verizon Center had violations, though.

Where is this restaurant? I eat rocks mixed with nails for breakfast all the time, and I hate to go through all the trouble of preparing it myself.

Bettman get these teams out of areas that don't know hockey , don't like hockey, don't care about hockey, don't have ice on the pond outside, also while you are doing this bring back old time hockey when fighting was part of the game (TO PROTECT YOUR STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!), put yotes back in Winnepeg, Hurricans back in Hartford or simular venue, put a team in Quebec and get the damm teams out of Florida, Georgia, Arizona, and one of them out of California :!:

You have to either be 27 or have played 7 years in the league to be a UFA. It has nothing to do with how many deals you've signed. http://proicehockey.about.com/od/nhlfreeagents/a/nhl_free_agents.htm Now for my post to get negged in 3...2...1...
