Interesting considering Wings were in the WCF, SCF (cup), SCF, WQF. Then I look up the Blackhawks post season and I read: Did not qualify, Did not qualify, Lost to the Red Wings in 5, cup... then 2 weeks later biggest firesale since lockout. Red Wings will make the playoffs next season. I wouldn't bet on the Hawks with such thin depth, rookies, washed up goalie, poor management, poor ownership, plus an injury or two would be catastrophic.

Couldn't disagree more. 1. NHL embarrassed itself for hiring such imbeciles to referee games in the playoffs. 2. Red Wings played more games than any team in the entire NHL since lockout. The 2006 roster wasn't much different from the 2010 roster. Of course this will start wearing on players as they play more games than all other players in the world... despite how "professional athletes", they are still human beings. 3. Red Wings suffered from one of the worst injury riddled regular season than most can remember from the history of the franchise. No way these players were healthy going into the post season. 4. Despite all odds, Red Wings still made it to the 2nd round and played well enough to win against the #1 team in the West... Just couldn't get over the hump (See: injuries, phantom calls / 5-on3s). I may be the minority here, but I am completely satisfied with the Red Wings and appreciate their efforts with all things considered. Red Wings are, without a doubt, the best team since lockout. Why can't others appreciate all this teams success and accomplishments?

Sutton is, to be honest, a number4 defenseman, and looking at our team he has no room, a 6th D shouldn't cost more than a million bucks... i wanna see Modano, a 6th D and maybe a forechecking part-time fighter (no not and old washed up downey) if the price is right...and by doing this there will be a few trades etc, but that's no problem.

Holmstrom is one of those guys that other teams fans hate, but they don't hate him because he runs his mouth or he throws cheap shots. They hate Holmstrom because you can hack and whack all you want, but he's still gonna stand in front of the net. They hate Holmstrom because he's a warrior and nothing phases him.

Why not Aaron Ward? How about because we want to spend less than $1m and get a defenseman who can actually skate? The Wings' defense right now is this: Lidstrom Kronwall Rafalski Stuart Ericsson Kindl Meech? Janik Hnidy is a possiblity, if he takes a pay cut. Boynton won't sign for under $1m, and certainly not the $750k he would have to, unless he's forced to given what he was making last year. Exelby would be decent if he takes $750k, but he's barely an upgrade over Janik so I don't know if that's even worth it. Sutton is going to cost more than the Wings can afford. On the open market he might even get Kronwall/Stuart type money.

Yeah I'd be happy with Exelby.He's still fairly young.He would be a good mentor for Ericsson.The last thing I wanna see is Kindl and E paired up.You wanna talk about turnovers?
