Playing superbly. Has turned our dreadful 3rd line into our current most productive line. He hits, he plays with an edge, he's good on faceoffs, he goes hard to the net. Anyone else really, really like this guy?

Should've been our 5 on 3. Of course, the way our PP is going, we should be declining PPs any way.

Fans complain about the Wings. Crimson complains about fans complaining. Fans complain about Crymson's complaining about the fan's complaints. ... Typical GDT on a less than stellar weekday game night...

I can. I can easily imagine a Cup for every year of Borque's contract. But, to be honest, it kinda sickened me to see him win a Cup with the Avs after all those years in Boston. He was a great player but I kinda hold the Cup chasing against him a little for some reason. I feel like he shoulda stayed loyal to Boston... or came here.

Do you honestly think that Howard could have stopped that? If anything, it was on Datsyuk.

Lidstrom-Borque didn't happen because the hockey Gods refuse to see a defensive line with more talent than themselves. It's kind of the "dividing by 0" of hockey.

Rage, thanks for the OP and editing the YT clips back in. I was not able to watch After Hours and it was great to see those interviews. It's a side of the game we don't get to see often enough. Really enjoyed it. Back when I went to Walled Lake Central, Livonia Stevenson was in our league, so it's fun to hear them mention Livonia. Thanks a bunch. Maybe this answers some questions about Modano's "slower than fans wanted" start; he's gasping for lungs and legs trying to keep up with the team until he get's himself in Red Wing shape. Go Mike, Go!

Who all saw After Hours tonight? The Lidstrom and Modano Interviews were awesome! Rage, those really were some great interviews. Thank you for sharing, I would not have stumbled across them I don't think... Edit: That was supposed to be a quote... but I am amazingly incompetent at the internet for a CS major sometimes

My best friend is a huge Blues fan, and pretty much said the same thing cprice said. Young talent is starting to mesh well. They dont really have a super star, so the team isnt being built around anyone, so everyone is just working really hard to figure out how to win together...AS A TEAM. They have 4 very balanced lines, now add a very good goaltender and you got a winning combo. I think the true test for the Blues will be how they play against some of the stronger teams in the west. They havent played the Kings, Wings or Nucks yet. So I think we will have a good idea if the Blues are for real or not in a couple months. But even if they aren't a true contender yet, I think they will be next year or the following year.

    Jiri Hudler Watch Thread

Hudler has no use to this team right now. He isn't good defensively and he isn't scoring. It's the same situation we had with Ville Leino last season. Also, I think he should sit most nights because Eaves and Miller both play very important roles on this team and they are doing their jobs right. Take one of them out and our PK is going to suffer.

That's weird, I thought we were posting on a hockey forum... turns out it's a high school essay?

Your post was just plain rude... To suggest a spell checker is one thing to make fun of someones educational background is another entirely. Heaven forbid someone inconveniences you with their grammar and spelling. I am pretty sure no where in the forum rules does it say that only those with solid writing skills are allowed to post.

Big E looks better than Kindl to me as well. He really uses his size and knocks guys off the puck in his own end and I like how he seems to police the ice for borderline hits and crap after the whistle on our players. I loved how he jumped Brule after the hit on Datsyuk even though the hit was legit. I just wish he'd stay at home more on defense. He seems to get burned quite often when he tries to jump up offensively. esteef

I didn't say it was random, but I said that putting Detroit's playoff hopes on giving your rookie goaltender every game and keeping your backup completely cold was incredibly risky. I'm not talking playoffs. Yes. That is incorrect, as Babcock stated numerous times his goal was to make the playoffs, which was what his decision was based on. That wasn't what I said at all. I'm not talking playoffs. I'm talking if Howard simply was on a hot streak, got cold and then we had nothing else to go for. Howard was not an established goaltender and did not impress until this year. It is a huge gamble to give him Marty Brodeur type playing time in his first real season when that didn't need to be the case. I think you aren't grasping my position correctly, here.
