OK, true to my word... Is that something along the lines of what you were looking for?

Wings had a near perfect game one and everyone is freaking out. We weathered the storm of a long lay off and almost pulled off a win on the road. Who cares if we got dominated on the stat sheet? Truth is, we brought the Sharks to OT in their home arena while playing short handed the entire second, third, and OT. We just need to steal one of the next two in San Jose and we have the series won because I don't see San Jose winning in Detroit. I mean, look at all the line matching Babcock had to try and do FFS. Go Wings and F off haters, go be a Vancouver fan if youre going to be a fair-weather ******

Thanks for the GDT HT! All of you that are posting negative things shouldn't even bother posting in here, we're here to support the team not ***** about the game before it even starts. We can't expect a win every single game this is a 7 game series after all. As long as we can stay out of the penalty box we've got a good chance to win. I'm expecting a good effort from the guys. It took you too long to set things up. San Jose had things up quicker than you. They dominated with their GDT. Sadly I don't see this GDT being able to top theirs, not today and definitely not if the series becomes 2-0 San Jose. God I hate the Sharks. I bet the refs help with their GDT threads. Their mod must work for Bettman. It's going to be a long game if this GDT doesn't get its act together. Maybe Matt can fire up our posters and we won't embarrass ourselves in front on the Shark posters.

Yeah, too many people are way too negative. Do I ***** about players or the team when they play bad sure, most of us and fans of other teams do but the next game I try to be optimistic. But to dismiss the team after one loss in overtime is a bit over the top.

I'm not going to say that it would have changed the game if that blatant boarding and interference was called, but how do they call boarding on Bert and not this hit directly to Abby's numbers?

I hate to detract from all the hard work you put in to patting yourself on the back, but you're kind of stating the obvious here. Everyone already knows that too long of a layoff can have a detrimental effect. Though I'd say the effect was marginal, no matter how many quotes you picked out of the GDT. Aside from the PPs, which had nothing to so with rustiness, the 3rd period and OT were pretty even. So was the 1st. I'd say being at home and down by a goal had more to do with the Sharks energy in the 2nd. For our part, I think we were just too passive. Trying too hard to not make mistakes or take penalties. Trying more to 'weather the storm' than increase our lead. Since we did in fact weather the storm, I'm inclined to say the 2nd period really meant nothing to the game. 1st and 3rd periods were basically even. We scored in one, Sharks scored in the other. The OT goal was a lucky bounce. No need to over analyze anything. Close match between two good teams; the breaks went to the Sharks.

Abby didn't do a good sell job there. He has to watch Pavelski's technique study and repeat.

Oh yeah? If rust was a factor that "kept the Sharks in game", then it also certainly helped them to dictate majority puck possession time, as well as a nearly 2:1 ratio of shots on net. Had that not happened, the Wings would have had more shots on net, and a much higher probability of scoring more goals (given the closeness of the score despite all of that) -- which, in turn, could have made ALL bad calls, funny bounces, and even OT, complete non-factors, and non-issues.

I got news for you buddy most of us are just pointing out the facts. If you don't like the truth thats your problem. Someone asked about penalty minutes and I gave in depth stat report. You cannot make up that a team received twice as many penalty minutes and 5 x as many 5 on 3's. These are cold hard facts that happened in a playoff series. The whole point is the Red Wings are the least penalized team in the regular season and how in the world can they be the most penalized in the playoffs. It does not add up. It's maddening hockey to watch. One team is clearly embellishing calls not always but maybe 25-30% of the time. The other I did not see any embellishment in. The point is we are frustrated and tired of watching this crap. I quite frankly will not watch it 2 years in a row again. Draper 10 minutes for being a punching bag most likely.

No, actually this stat line says it all for this game. Shots: SJ 46; Det 25 Score: SJ 2; Det 1 They give up 46 shots to only 25 and you guys are bitchin about dives? 18 shots in the 2nd period alone? Sheeyaat. Half way thru the 3rd my wife said "One goal isn't going to do it for this game. The Wings better pick it up". She was right. Dive schmive, the Wings had no jump after the 1st period.
