    Franzen Buyout?

Once again you disregard facts and resort to name calling and attacks. I'm discussing the topic of the thread, and I'm happy to back up my opinions with factual evidence. I'm not attempting to start an argument, but I'm not going to shy away from one either, especially when I believe someone is making ridiculously incorrect statements. You took issue with me saying Franzen is consistent and you suggested buying him out to sign 2 of Bickell, Horton and Clarkson. I've backed up my argument showing you that not only is he the most consistent of the 3 by my definition of consistent, he's also more consistent by your definition. The irony in your last sentence is mind blowing, you think I'M the one letting my feelings toward a player get in the way of numbers when you have completely disregarded every number posted in this thead out of your clear disdain for Franzen. I've already stated the many flaws I find in Franzen's game, his consistency isn't one of them.

    Holland on The Huge Show.

Surprised about the lack of Miller love on here. He was excellent on the PK. I'd like to see him here one more year.

Would people quit acting like they know Pavel Datsyuk personally and "know" what he would do or wouldn't do? He may want a ton of money. None of us here knows that. Ken Holland has been around the block a few times with star players. I think he knows what he's doing.

when the bruins dump the puck in they actually get the puck, wish the wings could do that.

WWW.mynhltraderumors.com. has a list iirc. Problem is there isn't much top end talent which we need...we got all the depth in the world for our bottom 6.

Buying out a perennial 25-30 goal scorer who makes only $4m might make great sense to you. To many of the rest of us, it doesn't.

OK, I cried... God, I love these guys. I can't wait for October! Thank YOU, my Wings, for a valiant heart-felt effort, in spite of the obstacles and injuries. I couldn't love you any more. I applaud all the local fans who went to games and cheered your hearts out for the Wings. See? They know you're there! I was sure that they did, and they appreciate it. Go, Wings, next year is our year!!

I especially liked the fact that this obviously wasn't scripted. These guys spoke from their hearts, even though we all know their hearts were breaking just a bit.

    Standing pat according to Malik

What we really need are a couple of solid power forwards. This team has no lack of skill or finesse, but all of that meant crap against Chicago when they gave us no room and our most skilled players mostly prefer to play the perimeter looking to make a sweet pass. We need more POWA! (get to the choppa!!)

Standing pat and going with youth development only works if you move the old ineffective players out so the kids can get the experience they need. IE Sammy and Bert at minimum.

    Jokes, know any?

awesome thread idea A business man was having an affair with his secretary, and one Saturday afternoon he was over at her place.Things got a little frisky and after the deed was done, both the man and the secretary fell asleep. A few hours later the man wakes up in a panic and instructs his secretary to go find his shoes, and rub them in the grass and dirt outside. Confused, she obliges, and the man puts his shoes on and drives home to meet his wife, who had been waiting for him in the living room. "Where have you been??" She asks accusingly. "Wife, I cannot lie to you. I've been having an affair with my secretary. We made love all afternoon." Looking down at his shoes, the wife responds "You filthy liar! You've been playing golf!"

This is either intentionally or unintentionally misleading. While its true that 27 of the top 200 from this upcoming draft are currently playing in the USHL only 3 of those 27 players haven't committed to an NCAA program already, Also of those 3 one is now playing in the CHL. So really there are only 2 USHL players in that list and they are underage and will likely commit to an NCAA program next year. The elite players in the USHL aren't in the league to develop, they are there only because they can't play in the CHL and keep their NCAA eligibility. Its also misleading because of those 27, only 13 are actually playing for a USHL team while the others are playing part time in the league as part of the National Development program. There is an argument to be made for the NCAA being a better development route than the CHL (although its probably a losing argument). The USHL on the other hand isn't even in the conversation.
