    22 Seasons of Domination

Have you ever wondered just how dominant the Red Wings have been in the last 22 seasons? The numbers don't lie:

Just think of all the great hockey names associated with that accomplishment...Devereaux, Hudler, Leino, Lebda... esteef

Oates is the big one for me, mostly because it happened when I was a young Wings fan and Oates was among my favorite players. Graves is another one. Given their track record the Wings might want to re-think things next time they consider trading any player named Adam.

    Brunner Contract Talks

Brunners agent screwed him. Inexperience by a rookie listening to his agent too much. Its a real pity, now he is possibly going to play for a crap team. If they are smart, they will make a short contract and Brunner busts his balls to get a better contract with another team in two years (hopefully the Wings)

I agree with Mrazek not being ready, but you have no proof that monster will be injured all year, or at all for that matter, most injuries this year was for a lack of half a season with no time for training camps, and a week long pre-season. Washington is garbage when Ovie isn't playing full tilt, which aside from 24 games last season he hasn't played that way in several years, so they are like a 6th seed maybe, they only had home ice cause they had the worst division in hockey. I do not truly believe NYR will be better with Vigneault than they were with Torts. Montreal is hit or miss really, Boston has fallen apart this off season, so lets see how they bounce back after losing key pieces of their team, and Pittsburgh is just a joke, they are good regular season, but come playoffs they are the laughing stock of the nhl. I honestly don't think there are 3 teams truly better than us, assuming half our team doesn't get injured (we can't possibly have that much bad luck 4 straight years) then I firmly believe we will start playoffs with home ice, and make a deep playoff run. With Alfie, and weiss joining Datsyuk, Z, Franzen, Nyquist and Tatar, and Helmer, we are in for a treat this year, cause we aren't trying to make playoffs this year, we are trying to win it all.

I'd give a ******** to play for Detroit too. I just haven't decided whose. I hate the waiting game.

    Wings Attempting to Re-sign Cleary

Who cares? Do you disagree with his quote?

https://soundcloud.com/siriusxmnhl/on-hockey-today-tuesday-2 No mention of who or why they didn't work. Way to really sell the team there, Kenny, ol' boy. TL,DR: We like our team.

who's on their way out of Detroit

Not sure how he's going to swing this but hopefully he makes a 3 for 1 or something and gets another piece or moves some of these guys to load up on picks.. That's what he's paid the big bucks for.

The Red Wings and the Olympics

I think both Abby and Tatar have outside chances at making their respected clubs. Both players represented their countries very well at the World Championships in 2011-2012. Abby - 8GP 1G 3A 4P +4 Tatar - 10GP 2G 3A 5P +1

Its not about wanting him gone. Its about well just look. Z DAT Abby Franzen Weiss Alfie Nyquist Anderson Tatar Eaves emmerton miller Bench; too too Injured helm Bert Sammy. See the problem? What happens if/when helm and Bert are healthy? This is why I was against the miller signing. The dude is a heck of a guy for us...we just don't have room. Now we all expect a trade or two. This is where "addition by subtraction" would help us a lot.

    Brunner Contract Talks

I like Brunner and it's going to be tough seeing him go somewhere else, but he has to do what's right for him financially at his age. With that said, Tatar will be a better replacement anyway imo. eh's a pretty cool guy, more gritty, goes to the net and doesn't afraid of anything. But seriously, i think we'll see more consistency out of Tatar and the third line will probably be better because of him.

Tampa didn't have that much besides the big 3, even when they almost made the Finals in 2011. They got there with smoke and mirrors playing guys like Downie, Purcell, Bergheinheim, Moore, etc., who all played well above expectations in the playoffs. That's why the last two seasons they played more like they should with that roster. It's hard to turn around a losing culture. Much harder than anything Holland has had to do.

The Eastern Conference angle is way overblown. Chicago just won it all with skill and very little physical presence. Besides, Boston and Toronto are really the only imposing threats of "big teams" in the conference. The Flyers too I guess, but they aren't any good. The West had the Blues, Kings, Ducks and to an extent the Sharks for awhile. They were all built on size, so it's not like the Red Wings have never been exposed to playing bigger opponents. I'm a believer the Red Wings could certainly use some more size up front (especially on the wing), but moving to the East doesn't suddenly mean they will get run off the ice.

That is not exactly a fair comparison, the Sens got beat in 5 games by the Pens, who then got swept in the ECF by the Bruins, who lost in 6 games to the Hawks. The Wings got beat, in overtime, in game 7 by a team that then won the WCF in 5 and then beat the Bruins in 6. Those are dramatically different situations.

Loving this signing so far... Always loved D. Alfredsson, always will. He is a true competitor, a natural leader who is soft-spoken and leads by example. He's a proven scorer and playmaker who has shown consistency throughout the majority of his career. He's used to the Eastern Conference. This signing makes total sense. He strikes me as a mix between Drapes and Dallas Drake. Quick, hard working, driven, and able to lead through example and heart. For all those out there that say our young guys should be ready to play and given the chance, realize that even one year with someone like Alfie on the team can work WONDERS for our younger core. The man is a living legend. Watching videos about him on youtube right now, and it makes me even more excited. The man is a machine.

I looked at some videos of Weiss and found a few fights. He is not afraid to drop the gloves (imagine that in a Red Wing if you can), but the problem is he get's his butt kicked every time he does. Thank God we have Franzen to protect him.

    Brunner Contract Talks

Good GOD who in their right mind would want to go from playing for the Detroit Red Wings to playing for the Buffalo Sabres or Florida Panthers?!?! It would take way more than a difference of 1.5 mil in salary to get me to do that kind of dumpster diving if I were a player. f*** that.

This is LGW, so anything short of going 82-0-0 and then a 16-0 run to the cup, coupled with a league record in fighting majors and trading Cleary for the 1st overall pick in 2014 will be an unmitigated disaster which can only be resolved by the instant dismissal of Holland and Babcock

OK, people got get this straight before they post, I am sick of seeing this all over the forums---Samuelsson CANNOT be bought out now, the period for Compliance Buyouts ended June 30. ALSO-Sammy has a NTC=NO TRADE CLAUSE. Third- if they Waive him his Salary of $3Mil STILL COUNTS AGAINST THE CAP because he is OVER 35-unless someone claims him.
