There's a little green button named "Like This" you can click on each post to express exactly that, which also keeps the thread from being filled with posts by people saying they like other posts. -

So.. what are our expectations for this roster?
Z Winged Dangler reacted to Yzerfan1999 for a post in a topic
Here are my bold predictions; Alfredsson scores 30 goals playing with Datsyuk/Zetterberg. Dekeyser takes a step back - he starts to actually look like a rookie. Smith steps up and becomes an actual 2-3 d-man, and he scores 40 points. Kindl scores 10 power play goals. and, The Red Wings win the Stanley Cup. There's something about this team when they acquire a vet who hasn't won a cup yet (I mean a real vet, not Hossa). They stepped up in 2008 when they wanted to get Drake a Cup, I think that the desire to get Alfie a Cup along with the play of these younger guys could be the recipe for success! Either way, should be an exciting season. -

NY Islanders - Tavares, no-brainer Dallas - Benn, also a no-brainer Ottawa - Karlsson would be my pick, but wouldn't be surprised if it is Spezza Buffalo - Ville Leino (j/k probably Stafford or Ehrhoff) Columbus - JMFJ or Dubinsky Calgary - Giordano Tampa - St. Louis, with Stamkos being the obvious successor when Marty retires Edmonton - Eberle -

Yet Holland doesn't? Lamoriello built that franchise from the ground up. He didn't just walk into a perfect situation with a bunch of Hall of Famers and yearly playoff success. He's had a tougher time since Stevens and Niedermayer have retired and since Brodeur became an old goalie. However, those Stanley Cup rings are very deserved. No one is giving him "too much credit" for the last six or seven seasons. Just what he did before that. -

It's not on YouTube, that was in the days of VHS. I would have to find the box that contains all the old VHS and upload it. Which may happen. -

Jim Nill takes Red Wings’ director of amateur scouting to Dallas
jthiel86 reacted to Yzerman191 for a post in a topic
I love how people spout off all of this banter about Nill being better than Holland because of XYZ and being the "real GM" in Detroit, and then they go complain in other threads about every signing and draft we've made over the last several years. Which is it people? This is probably going to have fairly insignificant effects overall. I actually can't remember the last North American impact player the Red Wings drafted. I guess Darren Helm in 2005 or Jimmy Howard in 2003. -

The CapGeek Thread
BottleOfSmoke reacted to wingsfan4795 for a post in a topic
I know a lot of people don't like Sammy, and he isn't my favorite player either, but I think some of the hate is a little over the top. Before his injury, he was always good for about 1/2 a point per game. That's pretty decent if you ask me. In a 4th line role, I would love Sammy. Other than that we don't really have room for him. He's a little overrated, but then again, we're the same team that traded a 1st for Quincey.
