Deserving would be an understatement, easily top 3 defenseman of all time, class act too bad the team didn't finish the job back in 2009. The perfect human deserved another back to back Stanley Cup. 4 Stanley Cups, 7 Norris Trophies, 12x All Star that's amazing. Words alone can't describe how good that guy was. Swedish offensive defenders will be forever guided with the task of becoming the next Lidstrom. This guy will soon join his good friend Yzerman at the rafters. Will be a sad and great feeling for every Wingsfan. One.more year one more year one more year

I approve that it's vs the Avs. I only wish that there were some players left from the days that they were significant to the Wings. They should sell the ice afterwards.

In all fairness, how many of the Hawks fans realize that "melted ice" is water? Ok. I'll admit it. If you were able to certify that you had a hermetically sealed jar of water that had been ice from the Joe from 3/26/97, I'd buy it as a souvenir. It's corny and off the beaten path, but it's different, and I'll give them points for that.

Unlike Parise and Suter, Alfie will be heading to a team with strong leadership and more than 4 "good" players. He's probably pretty ok with that.

I know you weren't asking me this, but how is that different than any other stat if he was on a poor team? His point scoring along with most other stats will go down playing on garbage clubs. It's no more a "horrible stat" than anything other....its relative.

But franzen is lazy and sucks at everything in hockey except scoring 25 goals a year.
