Babs Finally happy about 2nd line

Bertuzzi is effective up there. That may defy logic to some people solve he's "old and slow" but it is what it is. Our top line is set.

Looks like Pierre asks for an interview and the response is "Now???" and shakes his head.

Pierre: Henrik - Let me ask you something. When you come in on Monday and you're not feeling real well, does anyone ever say to you, "Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays?"

With some guys in the league, you get the feeling that they're driven to just hurt people out there (Cooke for example), while others are driven to win....and if that means being mean and nasty to anyone in their way to winning, then so be it (Chelios and Pronger come to mind). Love them or hate them while their playing for/against your team....but in the end, I gotta stand in appreciation of the warriors that they were and the drive that they put into winning. As much as I hated Pronger when he played, I have a ton more respect for him and his drive to win then I will ever have for the likes of a Franzen or that type of player.

So, you are suggesting going back to potentially ending with ties or extending overtime until someone wins? Your comment isn't clear. If it is the former, your suggestion that teams will play to win likely wrong. In that scenario, teams will play not to lose so they can keep that single point from a tie.

Which doesn't matter because he's better than any other option we have right now up there. He does everything right for that line, and is way better option then Abby.

    Speculation regarding Franzen's ailment

What upsets me is some of the posts on here that basically criticize Franzen's inability to deal with anxiety. Whatever is wrong with him I hope he's better soon and as far as mental health issues with athletes, I hope some people grow up and respect that a mental health problem isn't something to mock.

I'd like to see the entire team healthy simply so it forces Holland to make a move for cap reasons. Would be interesting to see what he does when his hand is forced. That said, Holland's quote shouldn't come as a huge surprise to anyone. He's made it clear numerous times that in the salary cap era he believes that hanging on to picks and young talent is paramount...especially if you want to be competitive year in and year out.

    An honest question about Nyquist

You gotta think its stressing out Babcock big time Mrs Babcock must be sick of hearing Hollands name being cursed at the dinner table. On the other hand, I'll bet Holland has an awesome car collection.

When Weiss returns slot him into the 3rd line between nyquist and Tatar until AllStar break to get the system down. Could prove to be a great third line during that period, then we have three pretty good lines for a change.

11/12 GDT : Jets 3 at Red Wings 2 (SO)

I was at the game last night, Bert looked slow, I have thought he looked good since being o the top line. but he was off tonight. Franzen line was invisible neither good or bad. I thought Miller played really well. my .02 I am attaching a picture I took that Google #autoawesome 'd. this software is amazing. The only thing I did was take rapid pictures during the shoot out.

Personally, I think Pierre let out a really, really wicked fart. Or he flat-out crapped his pants.

Pierre: Can I run my fingers through your beard? Please?? (I wish I knew how to embed the gif above my post. It would really help the joke)

    Speculation regarding Franzen's ailment

Maybe he's got amnesia and keeps writing it down so that he can tell us, but then he forgets where the paper is or to whom he gave it so he just has to put off telling us, but he doesn't remember that he's been putting it off, so he just keeps telling us that he'll tell us later and then when someone reminds him, he writes it down but he forgets where he put it, so when reporters ask what's wrong, he doesn't remember, and he asks someone what it is that's wrong and then he writes it down, but he forgets where he put it, and then when reporters ask what's wrong, he doesn't remember so...

    Varlamov Arrested

Yeah, but you can say that about anything. I'm still shocked that Don Cherry has any credibility left with anyone.

It should be treated like a regular fight, if both parties are willing participants and it is a good clean fight, 5 minute major, and it's over. If it is like what emery or others have done, it should be an automatic suspension, minumum 5 games. Holtby did nothing to deserve what he got, and emery is a thug who has no real hockey skills

Wait, I think I've figured it out. He was feeling nauseous and missed a period. He's pregnant! (And Khan needs to learn to spell nauseous).

Technically it is a nonsense to compare Pavel Datsyuk with Alex Ovechkin in points (goal + pass). I think NHL has to find some criteria to measure such palyers as Pavel - currently it does not have it. Even if Pavel scored a goal in shoutouts and von a game (which he did many times) - he will get 0 points. But it is much more important to measure what he does for all people who watch the game - he tries to make a masterpiece each shift, while Alex is just waiting for the moment he will get the puck and shot. BTW, I like the video (NYR-WAS) - it really shows the difference, Pavel would never do that. So, my point is: hockey is more than just points.
