    Kesler traded to Anaheim

If Holland's scouts are responsible for the picks he made as GM, then' he's responsible for the pics that happened when he was the head of scouting under other GMs. You know, guys like Fedorov, Osgood, Holmstrom, Lidstrom, Konstantinov, Primeau, Kozlov, Sillinger, Lapointe, Knuble, and McCarty. What a bum.

Some of you may disagree with his approach to trades and UFA signings. Fair enough. But one thing Holland can do as a GM is run a draft. I think we should all, as intelligent Wings fans, be able to agree on this.

I think yourself and kip discount players like Iginla and Boyle for all the wrong reasons (AGE, IT'S JUST A NUMBER) but I'm honestly warming up to the idea of not signing Niskanen or Boyle if the price isn't right. We have Ouellet, Sproul, Marchenko, and Backman lurking in our prospect pool, literally all 4 just behind Mantha and Mrazek in rank. Would love to see a few of them come in and earn spots, which I think at least 2 of them are ready for. You have to admit though, Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Iginla would be a sick top line. Iginla puts up dang good numbers and plays dang hard without a lot of injuries for a vet.

Nah man. Free agency is a great way to kill time at work. There is all summer for moves to be made. I won't hang myself is Detroit doesn't end up with anything on Tuesday.

That is a HFboard proposal, not true at all. That package gets you way more then Yandle. Let's break it down of how much we would be losing. Also note Yandle is not the best defensive player either. Yandle - 53 points in 81GP Tatar - 39 points in 72GP Nyquist - 48 points in 57GP Jurco - 15 points in 35GP Mantha - good to elite potential (good a minimum) 1st rounder lol uhh.. yea, no. I will take an entire line under 25 years old + 2 great prospects over Yandle anyday.

    Guess they really want McDavid.

Iginla would be a great add IMO, plays physical, hard and puts the puck in the net. Age isn't' a concern for him I don't think and he's still got good speed. If you think about it this way, putting Iginla on the top line with D/Z and having a second unit of Gus/Weiss/Franzen, by keeping the kids together on the third line they grow as a unit, still get a decent amount of ice time, but it'll be ice time against non-top lines, meaning they might be able to dominate a bit more as they grow. Personally, I don't see such an issue - Sheahan/Jurco/Tatar pretty much has everything you could want in a forward unit, so let's let them grow at the right pace?

SOURCE FIGHT!!!!!!!! On another note, can it be Tuesday already?

Then please clearly state in your posts that the information is a rumor instead of as if it's fact.

That is what you heard from your unnamed source that the price is.

The best news here is that prices just dropped. We might be able to get Niskanen for closer to 4.5-5. If we still choose to go that route.

If you're gonna spot pick certain things I talk about and just ignore the rest so you can make up these silly little come backs, I'm just gonna stop wasting my time responding to you. Have fun!

Here's the article. It's part of a larger article about Johnson. Feel free to dig into it more at your own leisure. http://frozenroyalty.net/2010/01/20/dean-lombardi-jack-johnson-is-learning-his-craft-belatedly/

No source to show, I know someone close to Holland. I only get to talk to him maybe once a year though. That's why when I do, I get all kinds of info at once, just like last year. But their intentions are to trade pulkinnen in a package, they know he probably won't have a shot at making the team with nyquist Tatar jurco sheahan and mantha. He will be traded before the end of the season in a package. Like it or not. Has no balls? Would trade our most valuable assets for players, literally almost every team wants a kings ransom. The one team that didn't was San Jose, and guess what, Thornton wouldn't waive his no trade clause to go to Detroit. No one wants to bring their families to a gang infested neighborhood to play hockey. San Jose was going to trade him pretty cheap too.

He signed them so he could ease those kids into the spots without overwhelming them.. Ken Hollands the reason we have those kids in the first place.

    Sources for any of this?

These are some very juicy tidbits of knowledge that you're throwing around. But you said you can't name your source? Did Pulkinnen say he wouldn't play in the AHL for another year as well? I feel he could have a chance to make the team in 2015. Do you mean let walk in this year because he is an RFA?

@gcom007 I dont necessarily disagree with your points, just the conclusion youre coming to. Five years ago our core players were in the midst of the prime of the careers, and we had arguably the best defenseman ofall time on the back end.. Realistically, noone would be able to replace half of what Lidstrom did night in and out, and anyone that would come close would eat up HUGE chunk of our cap space. It'd be nice to have brought in Big names sure, but we've been successful for so long and brought in so Many outside guys it depleted the farm team, which in the parity days IS A NECESSITY to stand a chance of having any kind of sustainable success.. Yeah kh had made a few absolutely abysmal choices, but he's a huge part of the reason we have a team that can basically roll our ahl team onto the ice and still be competitive, all while were stocking talent. So were not THE destination for free agents anymore. Free agency isnt what it once was because of the cap, why not take the extra year and millions of dollars to stay in a comfortable place. don't get me wrong. I Really, really, really want z to win a cup as captain, and datsyuk deserves at least a few more. but there's still going to be a salary cap when they're gone, we need to keep the kids rolling through so were not handcuffed like Pittsburgh is with Crosby and malkin. Or like chicago could be if the reports on Kane and toews are true. And when z retires, weve got danny Dekeyser, Gustav nyquist, Tatar....there will be plenty of options to be C, not even mentioning the talent coming up. At some point reasons need to stop being referred to as excuses by those who don't understand the explanation. And for all your disheveled statements about holland preparing for datsyuk and z, youre telling him to go out and build a bridge when weve got half a room full of kids who build dams.

No, we don't have room for 2 D. We've got Oulette, Sproul, Marchenko, Backman, Jensen knocking on the door. We've got to let one take a spot this year. They are also a lot cheaper.
  22. 1 point
In reality there is no such a thing as the Right D man for the Right price. No need to say that regardless of the position played, every UFA is being overpaid. Overpaying for the premiere D man is perfectly fine. And one more thing. Don't we, the loyal fans pay for some, if not the most of their salaries ? We want some results. I think we all have been patient enough waiting for our team to get what it needs to be competitive and be an elite team. I think we deserve that. Go Wings and get this guy already.

Alfie informs Wings he wants to return

Except that Alfie is a bonus. They're not saving room or waiting for him at all. They explicitly said they'll wait til they see if he can play before making a decision about him. This literally has no negative angle. They'll sign whoever they want and fit him in later. Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2

The road jersey is particularly awful. The orange sleeves are atrocious looking. I'm glad Corey Perry has to skate around in those.

No doubt! I mean, since he's the one making all the money she probably shouldn't have any say in their join decision making at all. It would probably be best if she could hold off having opinions or even talking as well. Better yet, she should probably just lock herself in a cage in the basement and only be allowed out when Ryan Suter says so. I mean, he makes money and she has "a free ride" so its not unreasonable to expect her to abdicate her say in their future plans for a life of domestic slavery.
