He was hurt. Now he is healthy. We get it. You want him to fail so you could tell us all how right you are. In the mean time, we are just gonna enjoy this team instead of s***ting on every little thing.

Why bother right now? We're tied for 2nd in the league. The team for the most part looks great. Sure, it may be reasonable to say we're operating on a best case scenario trajectory, but right now, it's working. If it keeps up, we'll be a destination at the deadline and the fact that we don't really need to make any major moves will give us a bit of leverage. Maybe then we find a halfway-decent 3/4 defenseman to tighten up the pairings. That's about all we really need at this point. Sure, some of the kids could dry up, it wouldn't be the first time, but we've got more of them who could come up and perhaps play well. But all in all, I just don't think offense is or is going to be our problem, and I think we should wait and see what opportunities arise closer to the deadline now that we might actually make it on to a few guy's lists. Otherwise, there's just no compelling reason to shake things up right now.

Obviously I thought both (Tatar + the Goose) would take a step back this year because other teams would focus more on them and shut them down but so far, both are playing really well. Tatar really exceeded my expectations good for him after what he has gone through last year.

Let's get back on track here and stick with the topic, which is the Tatar appreciation thread, not the Weiss debate thread. I didn't honestly expect this kind of start out of Tatar, I think a lot of us were focused on Nyquist emerging as the young goal scorer this season, but it's been a pleasant surprise to see Tatar scoring out there as much as he has been. I hope it keeps up and he stays consistent, and it's been exciting to watch this far.

He has admitted to having a conservative trading approach because you need youth to survive in the cap world. So I think his approach is proving to be quite successful in the trading department as well.

Maybe Holland knows what he's doing after all!

Tomas Tatar after a slow start has been fantastic. Tatar's stats the past 18 games statline: 18GP 9G 8A 17PTS +6 He seems like a guy that can play with anyone, similar to Sheahan and make the line go. There was a quote from Babs a couple weeks ago about how hard he is on Tatar because he knows he can be a great player. I think playing with Datsyuk is a huge thing for him, he can play his style and not have to worry about huge defensive responsibility because Datsyuk is on his line. To me it seems like Pavs loves playing with him, and has rejuvenated Datsyuk's play. I think he could be a 30-30 guy one day. So glad he plays for us and we didn't make any mistakes by letting him go.

17 points in 21 games is dead weight??? Franzen has his issues, and he is definitely streaky, but to call him "dead weight" is a tad extreme.

Jolly good show chaps. Capital work. That Mr. Datsyuk makes me think my monocle is in want of cleaning.

I have no hate for Buffalo and I would love seeing them getting McDavid. Finally the team has a great owner, the fan-support is still huge - given on where the team is ! - and they are doing this rebuild thing right. The Oilers in my mind have had more than enough first overalls and still couldn't get the job done that's on their management. Also I don't want to see McDavid in a soon to be relocated/sold market the guy should focus on hockey because he is incredible fun to watch and ridiculously talented.

Now that we have that cleared up... Call up Callahan while Abdelkader is out, if he doesn't earn his spot, we can send him down before his 10 games is up, if he does pan out, which I'm certain he will, trade Andersson for a late round pick...
