We have a few on here that think any sort of toughness or someone who will drop the gloves is worthless. Just ignore them. I still like watching big hits and fights. And I'm sure some others do as well. Not everyone wants pansy hockey.

Call him up everytime they play Toronto and have him punch Kadri in the face repeatedly while staring directly at Babcock.

Tangradi and "enforcer" don't belong in the same sentence. He may be big, but he hasn't even fought 10 games in almost 150 NHL games. The highest number of fighting majors he's had in an NHL season is 2. That said, he likely won't make the team, but could be a call-up if injuries hit. Basically an AHL depth signing.

You know he probably won't make our team, right?

    Butts? Pretzels? Richardssssss

Eff your own butt Same. Despite that, I think he can fill in well and provide a reliable veteran presence. Certainly worse ways to spend 1 Mil...Like buying a million dollars worth of pretzels and filling your bedroom with them.

I'll bet you a tablespoon of cinnamon you can't swallow $50.

I love it. Everyone is either Crosby or datsyuk, datsyuk says "I try to, I don't watch hockey, I don't know why, we have too many meetings" which means I'm the best player I've ever seen playAlso near the end when do your eyes light up most, Phaneuf says, when we win... His eyes don't light up often

More of a right than Darren Meech did.

And Nyquist has the right to wear number 14? Sheesh

I could be happy the rest of my life with a cinnamon girl.

I would have to try to wear #69 just to find out, but this is why I don't play pro hockey. Well that and I'm 150lbs soaking wet.

From what I've saw of the guy he always seems to be in the right place at the right time and has a hell of a shot, he certainly isn't going to make us a slower team. I'll take some hockey sense to go with our speed anytime.

He is in no way faster than sheahan. I thought it said elf your own butt.Which would've been way funnier.

The Wings have assumed GM responsibilities for the Griffs for a few years now.

Babcock was no longer with Anaheim when Fedorov was traded, he had nothing to do with that. Nor, I'm sure, did Babcock's previous experience with Fedorov have anything to do with not wanting to trade for him. And that doghouse is largely an overblown fan creation.

I think a ton of people will be pleasantly surprised by Richards. Whether he centers Z or Pav or on his own line, we all know the combos will be tweaked all year long, he will be used more than Weiss was and will be a positive on this team and help them move forward.

Tampa got a lucky bounce in game 7 versus Detroit. That was the difference. The Wings are not far away from being a legit cup contender. We can beat any team in the East. Tampa will get better. So will the Wings, Habs, Isles, Caps, Blue Jackets. There's not much separating teams.

#73 OA - Defenseman Vili Saarijarvi

Second day comments from Malik: Vili Saarijarvi 71: I shrug my shoulders and go, "Pro pace, pro pace." I have seen Vili for the sum total of about an hour, and I already understand that the Red Wings didn't overreact by signing him to a pro contract some eight days after he was drafted. He's not big at 5'10" and he's not massively physically imposing, but he is an elegant puckhandler, a smart, slick passer and a superb skater who just does everything well. Tyler Wright called him the "complete package" and that's not off. He's really, really good and I don't know how the Wings got him in the 3rd round, either, because he plays like a 1st round pick. There are many other reasons to go back but either way he seems to be playing for Flint next season.
