Miss as big as possible and it’s still only what, an 18% chance? Don’t get your hopes up too high. But yeah, Dahlin is definitely the dream. -

Yeah, I think anyone trading for him (or Karlsson) would have to be pretty damn sure he would re-sign an extension immediately after the trade. I wouldn't be too confident he would re-sign here unless things really turn around over the next year and a half... Even if we knew 100% he would sign here long term, I still don't think I'd give up that sort of package though. Go after these guys in free agency (if they make it there), don't trade the farm for them. -

Im guessing it'll be Tampa's 2nd rounder this year and an average prospect. I'd like a 1st, but I'm not optimistic considering the GMs involved. Speed is something this team has, making AA more expendable. Plus I dont see him developing into a center, which makes him less valuable. A dman of Faulks age and caliber is far more valuable to this team than a speedy one way winger. -

Missing Dahlin will not be a fail. Even the league's worst team only has about a 20% chance at him. Sure winning the Dahlin sweepstakes would greatly speed up the rebuild, but by no means is it a fail if the #1 pick isn't won. -
1 pointI don't think they "want" to trade him, but with only one year remaining on his contract, I'd be surprised if he isn't moved within the next year. Being an internal cap team, I doubt they'd have the money to re-sign him, unless he takes a significant discount. And why would he? To be in Arizona where they probably won't make the playoffs any time soon, let alone win a Cup? If he is traded, it's going to cost a TON to get him. A hell of a lot more than I'd be willing to pay...

The good thing about a tank is there's no tires to kick. -

You wouldn't be a true fan of you weren't wanting wins. I still want to see them win, just so long as everyone else wins more. -

Green @ $3 million for either Callan Foote Tampa's 2018 1st round pick probably either #30 or #31 overall or at the very least Tampa's 2018 2nd round pick+2019 2nd round pick. -

I completely understand. When I'm watching (which is every game) I want us to win. But when we do, a part of me is sad, because that part wanted us to lose. #Dahlin -

Maltby is also smart enough to adapt to todays game though. Marchand makes these mistakes and doesn't learn from them which ends up hurting the team. Lucic does a lot of goonish things and fights and hell even scores but I don't think his history of suspensions is nearly as bad as Marchands. Be a goon, but be a smart one that can help the team.. And in Marchands case he's all sensitive because people keep calling him a goon. It's like.. you are a goon, just accept it. Don't think Maltby even denied his role. Lucic certainly doesn't. -

Maybe if this was earlier on. But in todays league the more you get suspended the heftier the sentence gets. Look at what happened to Raffi Torres. This is Marchands 6th suspension. Couple more and he may be done permanently. Need smarter goons. Even Lucic plays it smart. -

1 pointHere’s a fun one maybe stop taking cheap shots then?? http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2018/02/05/brad-marchand-is-tired-of-being-labelled-a-goon/ Marchand just wants to do goon things but not be called a goon.... Led to a lot of good reddit comments such as “I’ve tried nothing and am all out of ideas!” “Immediately slewfoots reporter” ”it must really suck being labeled what you are.”

1 pointMaybe it's just wishful thinking, but I do feel like things seem to be lining up in our favor. Yzerman wants a Mike Green type defenseman and, given where the Bolts are with their Cup window, their picks and prospects are relatively expendable to them. Poile wants a scoring winger and Nyquist and Tatar roughly fit the mold of top-six wingers that Poile seems to favor these days. If I have my facts straight, Bob McKenzie has said the Bolts and the Preds are the two teams that are really looking to go all in for a Cup run this season and that they're well-positioned to do so with the picks and prospects they have at their disposal. And he's also said he believes Poile is looking at Nyquist and Tatar, possibly as a fallback if he ultimately decides against acquiring one of the bigger names, e.g. Pacioretty, Hoffman. (Cautious) HYPE!
