My roster obviously wasn't meant to be "likely"... Here's my "likely" roster... Bertuzzi - Larkin - Mantha Fabbri - Filppula - Zadina Rasmussen - Nielsen - Athanasiou Abdelkader - Glendening - Smith DeKeyser - Hronek Nemeth - Seider Cholowski - Lindstrom Bowey Bernier Howard aka, exactly what we had this season, when healthy (minus a few UFA's)...

I was messing around with what the roster could look like next year, and this is what I came up assuming we don't sign any UFA's. What does everyone think? IMO, if you give us a new coach (Likely Gallant), and roll with this roster, I think we are significantly better then this year. Essentially, I don't re-sign any of our UFA's, I bring up Svech & Ras, trade Glendening, Helm, and Erne, and I let Perlini & Ehn walk (or sign them and send them down). Obviously in this hypothetical scenario we have to win the lottery which really helps. I'd like to see Veleno up as well, but I dont think he will be ready. Ras I did bring up, but I'm on the fence with him, worst case if he isnt ready, I keep Erne or put Smith there and bring up someone else from GR to fill that last roster spot. I think our top line is very good, and I think adding Lafrenière completely changes the second line on the wing (though I worry they may be pushed around). Our 3rd line looks pretty good as well as long as AA can handle 3C, and our 4th is what it is. As for the pairings, I like our 1st pair, 2nd is ok but all depends on how Seider progresses, and I like the youth on our 3rd. A lot of kids on D, but it can't be worse the this year. Maybe Yzerman makes a splash and signs a Krug or another UFA. Thoughts?

I don't see Glenny getting traded. I would only take a significant return, and the only guy who would give us that got fired. 1st Line: Laff, Larkin, Zadina 2nd Line: Bert, Flip (until TDL, then Veleno), Mantha 3rd Line: Fabbri, Moose, Nielsen 4th Line: Ehn, Glenny, Helm (trade at TDL and bring up Smith) Extras: Svech/Abby (I am trading AA over the summer) (Erne and Perlini not re-signed) 1st D pair: DeKeyser, Hronek 2nd D pair: Nemeth, Seider 3rd D pair: Cholowski, Bowey Extra D: Hicketts/Lindstrom (E, Daley, Green, and Biega all gone via free agency or trade)

I think he's NHL ready, but likely not 2C ready. I think he could do as well as any other option we have in the organization right now, but I also think throwing him in right away, may not be the best thing for his development. I'd probably keep Veleno down in Grand Rapids to start the season as the Griffs 1C, and then call him up full time after next year's trade deadline.

Meh. I'd love to have a Pietrangelo for Seider to learn from, but I don't think it's a must. I think Seider has the raw skill / ability and hockey IQ to be an elite defenseman regardless. He just needs solid veterans around to lead him off the ice, in the gym. Between Horcoff, Cleary, Kronwall, Nemeth, Glendening, etc. I think he'll be fine. Would be nice if we can finally convince Lidstrom to come back over as an "advisor" / defense coach...

Fair enough. We do need a real veteran D man to mentor Seider though. Not sure how that's going to happen. I can see Yzerman leaving Moritz in GRs until it does though.

We don't win lottery. Pick 2nd. Take Stutzle. He plays in 21-22. I don't know who Yzer-dude jettisons at the deadline but we all know who won't be coming back. Since it's clear some of you guys have already lit the fantasy candle, it's bold prediction time: Yzerman makes a big kahuna move and overpays for Pietrangello 9.5 x 7. HERE ME OUT: Seider needs someone to guide him in his formative years and I'll be fuked if it's going to be DeKeyser. And I think Alex is the type of big brain D that will still be provide excellent value at 35+. Anyway, it's less likely than drafting Lafreniere but more likely than Veleno being 2C and trading 7 guys before October. We win draft lottery: Lafreniere-Larkin-Mantha Bert-Flip-Zadina Fabbri-Ras-AA/Puljujarvi Smith-disney.com-Abby Ehn, Hirose, and Svech fight for two spots Seider-Hronek Dekeyser-Bowey Nemeth-Lindstrom Hicketts Bernier UFA If we don't get Lafreniere, whoever we do draft won't be on the roster until 21/22. So Bert moves up, Fabbri moves up, Hirose on the third line, and perhaps Svech as an extra. Veleno makes the team later in the season with a strong start in the AHL. Flip becomes deadline trade bait and Ras/Veleno round out middle 6 centers. Cholowski also starts in the AHL to try and round out his game at the pro level. No NHL call up until he is ready to stick.

I mean I understand the grounds for termination. It was a co-worker and his comments made that co-worker uncomfortable. That pretty much seals the deal. I don't wanna say she doesn't have the right to be offended. She does. But context kinda matters here. He was on podcast known for raunchy jokes and lockerroom stories. Every episode they're chirpin' each other, talking about taking shrooms, and bangin chicks. What he said is considered MILD on that show and he was clearly just making a joke. I don't know if you've noticed Kathryn, but uh... YOUR HOT! Sharpie's hot too! He was complimenting you both with the joke. Patrick Sharp didn't seem to care... You'd think she would know JR well enough to know he's just trying to be entertaining. JR doesn't want to actually have a threesome with his two co-workers, one being male (although patrick is a cutie...) He also raves about Tappen in the chiclets interview as well. About how professional and great at her job she is. And I suspect that might be the root cause of her being offended here. He talks about how she really takes hockey seriously and doesn't just want to be known for being a pretty face on TV, which can happen for a woman covering a mens sport. That right there tells me she might be hyper-sensitive to being sexualized even in the slightest. But if that's the case, then don't be out there wearing low cut dresses at the NHL awards every year. I tend to think our middle of the ice is fine really. Rasmussen/Larkin/Veleno can handle the top 2 spots between them in a few seasons. N and Glendog Millionaire can handle the bottom roles. I just want the dynamo in Lafreniere

Not so fast. It will most likely be a pick in the late 20's of the 1st round. Minny also got a 4th line shell of Chucky and a prospect that could easily be a bust. Apparently Pitt has been coveting Zucker for awhile and offered up Kessel for him this summer, but Kessel blocked it. Pitt seems to think Zucker is the top 6 F they've been looking for to replace Kessel, but his points history says he more of a middle 6 winger (he's only cracked 50 points once). It's too early to tell who "won" this trade. If neither of Calen Addison or their 1st rounder become impact players for the Wild, Pitt actually wins this trade.
