Clusterf*** is a tool and plays on the edge to say it nicely but to say that a guy deserves an elbow to the head is the exact mentality that is leading to all these concussions and dirty hits.

That was Milbury's primary point... It takes a special kind of idiot to come back from a lengthy suspension and pull an instant repeat!

I understand the reason, but I would certainly hope it has no bearing at all in length of suspension.
I'd prefer the response to be a nice clean body check that hurts, but I'd also accept him taking an instigator penatly and lay a beat down on the guy. To do what he did though, is just stupid and exactly what the league is trying to get rid of.

The last 3 PP's were an absolute joke. Kept trying to skate it in when they had all 4 skaters standing on the blueline waiting for us. Shoot the puck in and go get it. I guarantee you that as long as Lidstrom is on the Wings and under 50, he will not "sit" a game in the National Hockey League.

I love how the team can throw Cleary on any line in practically any role, and he still goes out there, works his ass off and produces.

Hudler has hit his stride and is playing well within his limitations. The reason he plays so well with Datsyuk is that once in the zone they are both creative play-making type players that can shoot and see the ice well. The difference is that Jiri doesn't have the skating, physicality or creativity to create the time and space he needs that Datsyuk does - however if given space and time Hudler is very good. So, Dats creates time and space for Huds. Of course Dats will elevate anyones game, but I am glad Hudler recognizes the opportunity to play with one of the top 2 or 3 forwards in the game and is working hard - unlike Mule.

As long as he continues to put up points and plays at least some defense, i'm fine. Big question is whether he will show up come playoff time. Franzen needs to get his head out of his ass and crash the net, for crying out loud. It will be interesting who will sit in the press box come playoff time.

The kid scores the game winning goal with less than a minute left then he ices the cake in the shoot-out and you still s*** on him.
If we're going to talk about missed shots pissing people off please review Franzen's tape from the last dozen games or so. I can't frigging wait for him to regain his scoring touch! The man refuses to cut inside and rush the net right now! Doesn't he remember how many goals he's scored that way?!?

He's more visible every game than Zetterberg has been. Hasn't taken him long to dominate since coming back from injury either. It's like he never left.
I guess Zetterberg must be doing something in the lockerroom better than Datsyuk is, because he's been all but named as the future captain. I don't think it should be an open and shut case. Maybe they could be co-captains or alternate. I normally don't like that, but in this case it would be fine. They are the Euro twins after all.

If Datsyuk was captain, though, every time he did a post game interview, he should just say, "All I do is win," and walk out. Pretty much covers it, right?

zetterberg can't be 'just as good' as datsyuk since datsyuk is the best player in the world. i mean, i love Z but no one can seriously argue he is a better player (or just as good) than pavel.

Datsyuk gets mad love. There was a poll this season that asked Russians, who they think is the best Russian hockey player, and Datsyuk won by a large margin.

With AO, and Malkin struggling this year, would it be out of the question to see Pavs get the C for team Russia?

I don't like any line that has Bert and Modano together. Both float too much to be paired up.

Then with Draper/Modano/Lidstrom/Miller/Salei/Ozzie perhaps all leaving and the cap rising 3-4 million we have instantly gained roughly 10 mil and that's not counting the 6mil from lidstrom or any reduced pay he might take next season. All we have left to re-sign is Big E and Eaves and that'll be a half mil increase to each of their salaries. So we'll have 10-16 mil next season to f*** around with. So take your "..." somewhere else

I was hoping for something around $1.8MM to $2.0MM, but I guess its ok. Doesn't seem like any sort of hometown discount applied since I doubt he gets more than $2.25MM in the open market.

We also seem to have a "No Fighting" and "No Hitting" policy that goes nicely with our shameful "Don't back your teammates up" policy.

I picked the guy that annoys the crap out of everyone when he is on the ice, so Getzy was an obvious choice here. Big body, great hands, does everything well...hate to play against him and would love to have him in the winged wheel

Great talent and a right handed shot (which we need), but too big a risk because of his history.
