Trading Larkin would be a horrible idea unless we're getting another first line center back. Our center depth behind him still isn't great.. although Copp has definitely helped. 

Teams that would want Larkin have 1st round picks that are more like high 2nd round picks...  I'm not the biggest Larkin guy but you guys are on crack if you'd trade a guy who is now a legitimate 1C (albeit not elite) for a C prospect and a late 1st round pick.
Ideally you sign Larkin and move assets for an extended Bo Horvat... if you have Larkin, Horvat, Copp, and Rasmussen down the middle you're an unquestionable cup contender for 5-8 years.

Oh yeah, for me the ask for Larkin at 50% salary retained would start with a 2023 first and a young center with upside.

Being C and from MI is great but not the reason he wont be traded. Larkin isnt a SY draft pick but hes def a SY player. heart and soul and best player on the team. Career Red Wing.

From everything I've read this kid continues to be a pos and has done nothing to atone for what he has done. Like, he didn't even apologize. 
Step zero to redemption should be at least to make an effort.

It's lovely to see. Plus, plenty of good trade assets over the next few seasons now to keep that prospect pool stocked. Just look at Tampa, they always have another guy that seems to be able to come in and step up when they lose someone because of the cap. Yzerman is building that depth up in Detroit now. 

I love this pick. Also love the Amadeus Lombardi pick. That's a sleeper. Kid looked really skilled at the development camp, just needs to get bigger. Big fan of the 2nd rounders too. Huge draft for Detroit.

For decades, at the end of the night they filled the urinals at the Joe with ice. Everyone loved drilling holes in that ice.  Don't fire the dude if he feel nostalgic every time he sees a pile of ice. The urge to drill those holes can be overwhelming.
