Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 Am I the only one who can't stand Tim Tebow, Floirda's backup QB? I don't hate him as a person, I'm sure he's a good guy, but he is so 1-dimensional as a QB it's ridiculous, yet he still makes plays more often than not. Whats funny about Florida is most teams that use 2 QBs like that have the white guy as the passer and the black dude as the fast runner. With the Gators its the opposite! mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted November 25, 2006 Tim Tebow is going to be a stud. U-M went hard after him, but they couldn't get him to leave his home state. While watching that game I've come to the conclusion that Weatherford is the worst QB on this planet, and Bowden should quit.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 I guess it's because I'm a big LSU fan, and LSU couldn't stop him, even though he only runs two plays normally. He lines up in a shotgun 9 times out of 10, with either split running backs or just one running back on either side. He either QB draws, hands off to one of the RBs, or fakes the handoff and runs himself. THAT'S ALL HE DOES! In the meantime, Michigan's hopes of getting selected to play OSU again seem to quickly be fading unless Notre Dame can pull a miracle out of the hat. I just don't see how UCLA stands much of a chance against them, they are just so effecient. Not really all that explosive on either side of the ball, but they just make very few mistakes. How about that LSU-Arkansas game? It was quite an exciting one. While I'm glad the purple-white-and gold managed to escape with a victory, if McFadden for Arkansas stays healthy next year and is not a serious Heisman contender, I'll be seriously disappoined. That guy is going to be a stud next year. The times he lined up at QB yesterday, he was better than Casey Dick! Finally, gotta give another big to my alma mater. Sixth straight win to improve to 9-2, hopefully getting back into the top-25 by tomorrow. The team they were playing on the road is a bit down this season, but a 45-14 win against any team on the road is quite impressive. After a slow start in the game, they just dominated from the 2nd quarter onward.

That's how I felt about Vince Young, and that was before he opened up a can of whoop ass on Michigan. It was so obnoxious how he was able to scamper out of any jam, no matter how certain it looked that he was going to eat turf.

Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 UCLA actually has a better chance at beating USC than Notre Dame had. Just because its a state rivalry and its at their house. Its doubtful but you never know.. I know this is not how its going to play out, but if i had control and could pick the most interesting and best matchups here's how id go: Ohio St vs USC Michigan vs Arkansas (because i feel theyll beat Fla) LSU vs Rutgers/Louisville Florida vs Boise St (lets see whatcha got now Boise!) Big 12 champ vs ACC champ ( lets see who's the best out of the s*** conferences) Yep that would be 3 bids for the SEC! They certainly deserve it more than say....Wisconsin. (I looked it up its a rule) here is the way the BCS bowls are going to play out: National Championship----Ohio State vs USC Fiesta Bowl---Boise State vs Nebraska Rose Bowl---Michigan vs Notre Dame Sugar Bowl---Florida vs Louisville Orange Bowl--- Georgia Tech vs LSU

mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 (edited) You should hope you're playing the Irish. I don't think Michigan would have too much trouble beating them again. Thats very true, but the stats of college football teams beating a team twice in a year are not that good. Plus, I can see U-M vs ND every single season. I like it when they play teams such as USC, TEX, NEB, and FLA in bowls. The only way I would want to play ND again is if it were for a NC. There is a chance that ND could drop out of the top 8. I mean they havent beat a ranked team all season if GT falls out, which there is a good chance of. Edited November 26, 2006 by mannysBETTER3434
mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 Okay I went to the BCS site, and found the rules for this mess. If USC loses to UCLA (which they won't) they will play in the Rose Bowl against U-M unless they play in the NC. If USC wins out-- The Rose Bowl gets the 1st choice for teams because the best PAC 10, and Big 10 teams will be in another bowl. So they will take U-M for sure, but have many choices for their oppenent: LSU, ND, Boise State, Rugters/Louisville.
mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 Okay ND is now 12th in the rankings. Does that mean they are out of the BCS, or are they still in b/c they are independent???

I think the Rose Bowl will pick Michigan for sure and Notre Dame for ratings. They could pick LSU to play Michigan but I doubt it. Notre Dame gets in because they only lost 2 games to 2 of the top teams in the NCAA and because SEC can't have 3 teams there. The Big East teams (West Va/Rutgers/Louisville) are weaker than Notre Dame so it would surprise me if they earned 2 teams this year and the ACC/Big 12 weren't all that there this year. Running out of teams that could get a shot in.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 That'd be cool if he does, he's just annoying cause he's predictable now. Also, a little vent here but... As much as I love LSU (and would love the idea of a Michigan/LSU Rose bowl if LSU makes BCS and Michigan doesn't play for a championship), I absolutely cannot stand a lot of LSU fans. People have been calling for their coach, Les Miles, to be fired. He finished 11-2 his first season and is going to finish no worse than 10-3 this season. That's two 10-win seasons in his first two tries. Don't forget a lot of the first sesaon was a major distraction trying to deal with Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. And nevermind that LSU's road games this year were all against SEC top-10 opponents (Auburn at the time, Florida, Tennessee at the time, Arkansas). They won two of those. Yet they want him fired. Why? Because he has a different coaching demeanor than Nick Saban who coached LSU to a championship in 2003, and somehow LSU fans think they can win every year now even though they've only won 2 national championships in their history (1958 was the other). They definitely had a boat-load of talent to play in a national championship this year, but it didn't quite work out. IT would've been tough to Heaven forbid they don't win it every year, especially with the brutal road schedule this year. Think big no doubt about it, but reality has to set in every now and then, which is usually absent in Tiger fans. 11-2 and 11-2/10-3 after this season is nothing to be sour about. mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Well more sooner or later Miles may very well be the next U-M coach. He has a clause to leave for U-M at anytime (b/c he is a former U-M asst.) With Carr retiring soon, and Miles getting bashed at by LSU fans he may pursue U-M hard if not already.
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 Word is MSU will hire Grantholm (sp) tommorow........ Todd Grantham is a decent choice. He used to be assistant head coach during Nick Saban's era. There is a lot worse coaches out there but likely that Todd will choose MSU as a possible stepping stone to a NFL head coaching job or higher NCAA coaching job. Still, better than John WLLLLLLLLLL Smith!!!

Look at Smith- he won every place he went until MSU. Hell, with the exception of Saban, MSU has been a death trap for coaches since long before that. Since 1954, when Duffy Daugherty took over, MSU has had 9 head coaches. 7 of them have been fired. 2 quit for better jobs.
