Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 I expected Michigan to put up a real fight in a close game, but thought theyd lose. Very surprised. However, knowing Michigan theres a loss coming to Wisconsin now.

Happy Pancake 6 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 Hey lets not get to far ahead of ourselves here. We do play in the Big 10 Yes, and let's hope Michigan remembers that. Wisconsin...Iowa...Michigan State...all those teams and more would love to beat us. Especially now that we're a highly ranked team.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted September 18, 2006 Wish I could've seen some of the big Michigan victory. I went back to my school this weekend for one of the Separation Saturday games that was probably under the radar a bit, TCU-Texas Tech. TCU's defense is good, but I was just shocked the way they just completely dominated TT from start to finish. No touchdowns given to their offense, and only one field goal to an offense that can put up 350, 400 yards passing in the air per game on a normal basis. We only gave up over 200 yards passing to them on nearly 50 pass attempts. And, keep in mind, these two schools met in 2004, and Tech just slaughtered TCU that game 70-35. This was the last game I would've ever thought would go without any touchdows throughout a game. I was expecing a 38-35 outcome or something, but TCU grinds out a 12-3 victory with just enough offensive life and 4 FGs. 11-1 last season, top-25 right now, 4-0 vs. the Big 12 this season and last, two of those games on the road. Time for some RESPECT! :rockstar:

You say that every year. But that is why I was pulling for Michigan. Although both teams are far from the end of the season, if both win out, it would definitely be 1 vs. 2. Ohio State would win of course, and then win the national championship, becoming the first team to beat three no. 2's in one year.
RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted September 18, 2006 Hehe - pleasantly surprised by the whoopin' of the Irish. I really thought Bg Blue could win, but thought it would a tough game, last minute field goal kind of affair. I better revel in this while I can - how often do you lay 47 against ND at their house??? Really didn't get a feel for the Michigan team the first two games vs. weak opponents - they look great. However the rest of the season plays out, this game will stick out! Loved the look on Quinn's face on the bench :HUH? [attachmentid=224]
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted September 18, 2006 Someone explain this to me: Tennessee is now 15th in AP. Notre Dame is now 12th. Florida beat Tennessee 21-20. Michigan beat Notre Dame 47-21. Why is Florida ranked higher than Michigan? Florida won by 1 point over a weaker opponent than Michigan beat by 26....and Florida is better? Come on. Not to mention West Virginia...3-0 against unranked opponents this year, and only one rnked opponent on the remaining schedule. Michigan is 3-0, including a dominant victory over a ranked opponent. How is WV ahead of UM? And how the hell did WV get any first place votes? Also,,where did Notre Dame's 3 first place votes go? OSU, Auburn, USC, and WV all stayed the same, and nobody else has any. Seriously....WTF!
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted September 18, 2006 (edited) I ******* knew this was going to happen. Literally, as time expired on the Florida game, I was thinking exactly what you wrote. I'd rather hang around lower and let all the higher ranked teams lose............ btw, ranking system and BCS are BS
Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted September 18, 2006 For some reason I like the rankings this year. But I agree, Michigan should be ahead of Florida if the voter has any sense of logic based upon what's happened so far.
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2006 as the rankings are right now, Florida plays 5 teams in the top 20. Michigan only plays 3. Seriously....WTF! West Virginia is the best team in the Big East. Michigan is not the best team in the Big 10. Michigan is only good as long as ND keeps winning. Thats something that is hardest to comprehend. YOU BENEFIT THE MOST IF THE TEAM YOU BEAT, WINS. If ND crumbles and loses 5-6 games this year, what will this past weekends win mean.....answer...NOTHING. Michigan needs ND to win out.

Clemson beats FAU easily, loses by 1 in 2OT becasue of a blocked extra point vs. BC and beats FSU. Edited September 19, 2006 by wingschamps

They have a big ten season that doesnt include michigan or ohio state. what is up with that?!?!?! Your right thats so dumb. If the Big 10 was smart, well actually if college football was smart they would take the extra game they added (for example U-M added Ball State ) Instead of playing some crappy team why don't they schedule one of the big ten teams that they don't play. I think every big 10 team should do this instead of having another powder puff game to give them an extra win.

The team Michigan just DESTROYED is ranked three spots HIGHER than the team Florida just squeaked by at the same time. It was the first time either team had played a ranked team this season, so you can't say 'well, Florida played tougher opponents in weeks one and two.' There is no reason Florida should be ahead of Michigan based on what has actually happened on the field.
